Yeah, that is what almost everyone is saying, on both sides of the argument. Mostly I just want it changed, because I see no reason to throw the book lore out of the window when its not needed. Lets hope CDPR sees this, or realizes it themselves before they finalize it.

I don't see it as necessarily destroying the book lore. Honestly people are getting all worked up over something so simple. It is possible to love two women and choose to be with one for whatever reason. In the witcher world it can be seen as Geralt staying with Yen because of the last wish but I don't think that was the only reason.


I think he loved Yen and wanted to make something with her that he knew was easily achievable with Triss. Call it happiness or something else doesn't matter. Saying he wanted to be with Triss before can simply mean he wanted a relationship with Yen like the one he knew he could have with Triss. Again all the new dialogue can be explain in many ways.

The key word for me to change my opinion is Want to be with you and love you are like miles apart...

Geralt is way more than a dumbass sometimes but there are no ideal people. If he loves Triss and she loves him then I see no problems.

I agree with your assesment. Honestly people fall in and out of love in the real world so why is it hard to accept this in the witcher world? I think their story is lovely. I have to say I think Geralt found in Triss everything he's been looking for all his life.

Imo, in books Geralt loves Yen with all his heart. Triss he loves too but as dear friend. Only after amnesia he fell in love with Triss.

That explaination fits better with the everything and the games. Geralt loved Yen however, after having Amnesia he fell in love with Triss. After regaining his memories he realized that what he had with Triss was very special.

I can't really comment on the quality of the dialogue since I am avoiding it, but I would prefer if they would add a bit of consequence.

Which adding different dialogue at the tent before the final battle could be seen as doing that. Sucks you get "Good luck" no matter your choice.


However, that being said, I would also be happy for additional dialogue and interaction from multiple characters considering this is the end to geralts journey. Be nice to see as much of the characters as possible before CDPR moves on. So if on top of the fixes, they decide to add additional conversations, than yay

Nah, it's more about people complaining that there is serious problem in Triss romance consequences. Whole 1k forum thread, list of 7 or more problems. And what made them happy? 3-4 additional dialogues lines

Same for my Geralt, with all her defects and qualities, Triss is a gorgeous person for him. That's how he sees her.

Yeah, uncomplicated relationship with Triss is a great example of healthy relationship in real life.

Couldn't have said it better myself. People who dislike Triss looks at her relationship with Geralt as some silly school girl romance. Despite all the little awkward and silly lines and things they say to each other, their relationship I like to think is more healthy than the other option.

betrayal when I look at Triss relationship with Geralt. Both in books and in game. And I like Triss as Geralt friend but not his love interest. Cheating on your friends isn't good in my moral principles.

Not sure why some people - not referring to you, just speaking in general - have a problem with Triss hooking up with Philippa at some point in her past. I imagine most, if not all of the sorceresses have been around the block a few times with members of both genders. Sex is basically treated like a commodity in Sapkowski's world. That's not to say that they don't feel love. I just think that, in the Witcherverse, love = commitment and sacrifice, not hanky panky.

Triss is far from it, Imo. Even Yen doesn't go that far.

She's enjoyable on tw3. Nothing more...

It's more about Philippa herself. Triss and Keira would be cute, Triss and Sabrina would be wild, Triss and Philippa seems a bit like manipulation (see W2 Saskia). But Triss + Philippa is my favorite explanation for Witcher 1 Triss behavior.
