Yeah, that is what almost everyone is saying, on both sides of the argument. Mostly I just want it changed, because I see no reason to throw the book lore out of the window when its not needed. Lets hope CDPR sees this, or realizes it themselves before they finalize it.
I don't see it as necessarily destroying the book lore. Honestly people are getting all worked up over something so simple. It is possible to love two women and choose to be with one for whatever reason. In the witcher world it can be seen as Geralt staying with Yen because of the last wish but I don't think that was the only reason.
I think he loved Yen and wanted to make something with her that he knew was easily achievable with Triss. Call it happiness or something else doesn't matter. Saying he wanted to be with Triss before can simply mean he wanted a relationship with Yen like the one he knew he could have with Triss. Again all the new dialogue can be explain in many ways.
The key word for me to change my opinion is Want to be with you and love you are like miles apart...
I think it is nice interpretation, in case CDPR don't change the line
