Triss Merigold of Maribor (All Spoilers) Resurgence

Funny didn't think anything wrong with the fire being used by Triss . When learning of her exploits with Sodden and her raining fire down on the Nilfgardians it brought to mind the plague of Egypt to do with hail that burns . Besides by the time Triss is blasting everyone with fire she is pretty much feed up with everything that is going on .

When Triss reveal to Geralt that she gonna be a head of the Council and the Conclave. Geralt said (dialogue's choice) with she is the head the Council will finally do something good....Is the Council and the Conclave that bad before ???

Still, now in Kovir, Triss basically is:
-Head of the Supreme Council of sorcerers
-Head of The Conclave of Mages
-Court advisor for Tankred

Too many power responsbility in just one person, just imagine the stress :coffee:

With so many positions,it shows as far as Triss talented, intelligent and educated. These qualities are just amazing.I can say that Tancred not mistaken, taking Triss to these positions.

She's a great politician and a loving woman, and she has a man who helps to relieve all this stress, because when Geralt is near, she can't be sad.She with a happy smile goes to home, knowing what's her waiting loving man

What is the difference between these two organizations? I thought they had similar duties (governing magic\mages), if they have the same duties then what is the point in having them both if they have the same leader?

You forgot about making cookies for Geralt :D

I think Geralt assumes that with her in charge mage activities will be more controlled so the events like those related to the Curse of the Black Sun or Rissberg Castle wont happen again

Conclave discussion and how Triss's character would approach that whole situation (And other equally reasonable Triss discussion) = Good.

Discussion about Geralt's baking techniques (Or food related and/or off-topic rubbish in general) = Bad.

With that in mind, carry on.

Not really.I doubt Geralt knows much about previous activities of the Council and the Conclave.

I think the Council governs mages, while the Conclave governs the Council.

Is the Council and the Conclave that bad before

In the books the Council mostly argued with itself until the civil war on Thanedd. Then the new Council at Loc Muinne were the "mediocrities" Radovid complained about. Before Thanedd Triss wanted the mages to maintain peace and prosperity in the Northern Kingdoms and build alliances against the expansionism of Nilfgaard. The Lodge was a little more internationalist, since they included Nilfgaardian sorceresses.

If you remember Witcher 1, Triss was working with the merchant Leuvaarden, who represented a big trade corporation. In the books another Leuvaarden (probably a relative) was a major player in the Nilfgaard-Novigrad-Kovir trade cartel. Triss would probably have major influence over the Koviri branch of the corporation, and would still have contacts with the Novigrad branch. So in addition to her other duties, she might be influencing international trade. The trade corporation would also be interested in peace and prosperity, because wars are bad for business!

I hope Triss paid attention during all her dealings with Dijkstra- she's going to need some criminal mastermind skills to manage everything!

it really doesn't matter too much for Kovir as there are barely any quality mages there - whatever mage body there will be more of Tancred's personal toy than anything influential (note that he took the right to appoint the leader away from the mages and gave ti to himself)

Triss' position is like being both mayor and innkeeper because there are only 40 people living in the village

Yep. "Owing to" Radovid and Thanedd coup - Triss, belike, one of the most strongest and experienced mages of Kovir and Poviss.

Even though I think the idea of Triss becoming the head of the Coucil AND the Conclave is incredibly stupid, it does makes sense, since all better candidates are either dead or in hiding.
