Triss or Yen?

So, I was curious what this forum thinks and how 'book readers' and 'non book readers' opinions differ.

Do you go for canon romance (typically Yen) or a more established game romance (typically Triss)?

Personally, I haven't read the books (I do plan too) and I (for obvious reasons) choose Triss. While Yen definitely seemed cool and all, the character bond definitely favored triss for 'non book readers'.

Yennefer can fuck right off. I don't know much about her backstory, but they're making her a very unlikable character. I can't recall a single scene in this game where I felt like being nice to her, and she never seems happy to be near me. So I give her every negative reaction possible in conversations.

At one point when carrying on with the story, I noticed that I automatically failed a side quest. So I checked to see what it was. Turns out it was related to Yennefer. She needed my help with something apparently. Well, too bad, bitch.

Triss all the way for me. She may have used Geralt in the past, but I'm actually enjoying the scenes with her in this game. Shame she doesn't have more screen time :(

After reading the books it only feels right to go with Yen. I see she gets a lot of hate and I can see why. I just think too many people misunderstand her. I was very sad to leave Triss because she's so awesome, but I feel that in the end Geralt would end up with Yen anyways.

I've read the books and this is the reason why I never could choose Yen.
Without knowing the books I would be more open minded probably.... I think the point is : I read the books after I played the first two games (which was last year). So I already had my vision of Geralt. And my Geralt would never allow Yen to treat him like she does and especially he would not fall in love with her. Actually I was really shocked from time to time while reading the books ;)
And sometimes I ask myself if I would like Yennefer better if I'd read the books before playing the games (so my vision of Geralt would be mainly influensed by the books and not by the games).

It's still same sneaky Triss, Witcher 1 and 2 proved it. Although she seems to see their mistakes in Witcher 3 you can't just erase all stuff she did. Emhyr doesn't seem to be THAT bad guy in games either, read the books and you'll see what kind of guy he is, expecialy those who think Ciri Empress ending is fine ;D

I still can't get why Yen still calls Triss a "best friend" but lets admit it, all relations between mages within and outside the lodge are seriously f up.

This. Unfortunately I bungled my only shot at romance with Triss because I was playing hard to get. Still, didn't want anything to do with Yen. She reminded me of some crazy ex girlfriend.

I read the books, and it seems like Geralt is always trying to get away from Yen, but keeps getting drawn back to her. He loves Yen, but they are never very happy together. The game plots give him a chance to break with his past and have a happy future with Triss.

I'll pick Yen because:

1. Already picked Triss twice in Witcher 1 and 2, Yen is something new.
2. Read spoilers and with Yen is a more complete run with a better ending, and for now I only plan on doing one.
3. Triss doesn't look or act too sexy yet anyway, I'll just watch her scenes and dialogues in youtube or something.
4. I too would pick both if I hadn't read what happens. Then again I'd pick even more if they were availiable.

I haven't read the books.

and yet he is the one who made a wish to bound their fates for ever, man please...
