Romance aside, who would win if Yen and Triss are put to fight to death ?

That depends.
With magic Yen is considered the better sorceress but Triss has fire.
Without magic who knows...
But let's face it, at least everybody else except for Yen and Triss would win if such a fight would occur. Everyone loves a good catfight ;)

I have read the books, and OF COURSE it's Yen:

1) The Last Wish is my singe favourite side quest in TW3.

2) In blood of elves Geralt admits to Triss that he is THAT much in love with Yen.

3) In lady of the lake Yen indirectly admits that is THAT much in love with Geralt

4) Sure, Yen is an ultra bitch on the surface, but only there. Her temper is quite interesting, while Triss IMO is a bit boring, even though, even in the books, it seems like she is the only sorceress who is indeed a nice person :p

5) It's, like it or not, what Geralt really wants, considering he recovered his memory.

edit:6) Far better sex scenes.

Allways Triss!
I have read books and I didn't liked Yen there as Geralt's LI and don't like her in game that way.
She is gorgeous, but she is not for Geralt in my Witcher.
Forever only Triss.

I romanced both and ended up without either one. Honestly though, the game kind of flows better if you pick Yen. It seemed like they wrote it so that your kind of supposed to pick Yen. If you pick Triss it doesn't fit as well.

I think the poll could do with a few more options (New to Witcher 3 and like XXX) but still interesting results nevertheless. Great to see book readers also like Triss!

personally I like Triss more but the chemistry between Yen and Geralt is far better.

It's the most interesting relationship of the books for precisely this reason: one person reads and concludes that it's a beautiful romance of two star-crossed lovers, and another person (like me) reads it and concludes that it's a tragic and cursed relationship that's doomed from the outset. I think Three Jackdaws got it right. Without the djinn's magic binding them, their next inevitable split is likely to be their last.

I don't agree that Yen is only an 'ultra bitch on the surface,' though. She is genuinely selfish, petty, arrogant and spiteful. She is also, of course, resolved, courageous, intelligent and principled. I think that's exactly why she's a cool and well-written character and also a tragic one. Just as Geralt is chained to a broken relationship that can't ever work with her, she's also chained to him like that. It's why I like the Last wish quest in the game a lot and I think it makes perfect sense that she'd want to break that link.

Didn't read the books and chose Yen. Black hair, violet eyes, how couldn't I? She had me from the opening "dream" where she, Geralt and Ciri were at KM when Ciri was a little girl. Then, I read the last wish and couldn't imagine not choosing Yen. Also, the voice actress for Yen is perfect. Love the slight accent. Triss voice actress didn't go over well w/ me.

This is really a hard choice.

Based on the books and the background I would prefer Yen. There is so much they've gone through and together with Ciri it really felt like a special family.

But based on the games (not only Witcher 3) I felt a stronger bond to Triss and also an more equal partnership.
In the game there is a discussion between Geralt and Ceryse. Ceryse is telling Geralt that he can't do a single step without the approval from Yen ... at that point it was clearly Triss for me

I fail to see how's that even possible to think about :D Seriously, I'm on my second playthrough and I still can't convince myself to betray Yen

It is like deciding on wether I go back to my hot last ex-gf or to my hot first ex-gf, but instead of the decision being mine, it is my friends and family who give their opnions and decide for me.

The books left me undecided whether love or hate Yennefer. But the game made it just impossible for me to choose her instead of Triss. There were some better moments when I liked her (after djinni quest and breaking spell on Uma) but that is all. I just can't imagine choosing her in my next playthrough.

Why was I never given the option to call Yen a cunt? That is the DLC I want.

A bit harsh. I just wish i had the option to tell her i'm with Triss, she can teleport me to the seas of Skellige in anger for all i care if i had that option.

I'm in an odd position because I love Yen and I like Geralt's interactions with her, I just think they're like Ross and Rachel. They need to break up but destiny kept bringing them back together.

Went for Yen and would do again.

Haven't read the books but I'm quite interested about the witcher's lore (read many Wiki pages, in-game books and other stuff on the web).

I really like Triss even though I didn't really like the way she lied to Geralt, however what made me choose Yen is the fact that she did so much to find Ciri, it showed me how much she cared about her and all.

Didn't like her much as first (how is fucking with another woman because of amnesia not an excuse ?!) but I then realized just how much she loved Geralt and appreciated it, also liked the funny conversations between her and Geralt and them talking about the past (got to learn more about the witcher :D).
