I'll spoiler-tag it for others, anyway. Fan translation here: http://en.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?/topic/20967-our-community-fan-translations/page__view__findpost__p__699358

In Something Ends, Something Begins, a non-canon story of Geralt's and Yennefer's wedding, Triss is getting it on with Eskel.

Yennefer without a doubt. Not only because I like her; I read the books and I'm fairly sure Geralt is truly in love with her and would follow her to hell. Triss just can't compete with their hard, difficult, yet rewarding old relationship, as much as she can't compete with Yen as a character either, in my opinion (that's why I like Yen better).

Yennefer, as a principal character, had way more development in the books. There are reasons for her bitchiness;
that suicidal flashback was so sad, also she was originally a hunchback, her father despised her...
she's a messed up person, just like Geralt, but she has plenty of good qualities too.

She's strong, very independent and passionate. She defied the council of sorceresses (which Triss did not), ran away from them, withstood torture in order to protect Geralt and her daughter... Triss feels somehow shallow in comparison, although she had, too, a storyline in which she overcame her fears.

Remember also, that Yennefer is mother of Geralt's daughter (at least the same extent that he is the father)

I really hope that they do give the players the option, especially since it could create a great internal conflict for those that have read the books and played the game. Having done both, I can see that Geralt would probably choose Yennefer, but at the same time, it seems like he would have been better off with Triss. And, I'm guessing that people that haven't read the books might resent not being able to choose the one they know, or neither.

I do wonder if my choice would be different if I had read the books first. Reading the books, I couldn't help but think that Triss was better for Geralt, but I also knew her already. However, TW2 has already set up that Geralt will have a tough choice ahead of him. The flashbacks clearly show that he loved Yen, and he is willing to go into Nilfgaard to find her, not knowing if she is even the same as she was before. Plus, Dandelion mentioned that Geralt was in love with both of them, so the conflict seems inevitable.

It's interesting because Triss seems like she would be willing to yield to Yen, recognizing the true love Geralt has for Yen, and she mentioned how she "owes" Yen. However, I really hope that she makes the choice tough. I don't want her to just give up. I wonder if Triss feels that way towards Yen based on the age difference? Yen's appearance has a lot of basis in magic, like many sorceresses, while Triss is actually young.

I don't think Triss prefers the Lodge. I think she's cripplingly insecure and makes a number of bad judgment calls. It's exasperating, but I don't hate her for it. When she's pushed really hard, she comes through for Yennefer...in the books, anyway. We'll have to see what CDPR wants to do with her character, well, with both of their characters.

The in-game Triss seems different to me than the Triss in the books (at least the ones I've been able to read so far; the fan translations are most of the way through The Tower of Swallow). The in-game Triss seems like Yennefer Lite.

Yennefer or Yennefer Lite? It depends partly on how CDPR portrays them both in TW3, of course. Yennefer Lite would be easier to live with, and Yennefer would have more depth. Geralt could probably use some ease, after all he's been through , but I don't think that's what he'd choose for himself.

If you play "Medical Problems 2," you can have Triss AND Shani. ;)

Spoiler?
Yennefer died for Geralt and endured torture for him and Ciri, so I'm going with her.
Triss just took advantage of his memory loss, but I do like her better in the second game.
I miss Shani

I just hope that it won't be choice just between Yen and Triss. I have seen far more interesting women in the game than them.

In books I didn't like both Yen and Triss. In games Triss is far more interesting, so I will wait to see how Yen will be portrayed in games and then I'm gonna choose the right one (I mean Ves :D).

Without haveing read the books OR played Witcher 1 I of course would pick Triss without a doubt. Planning to read the books soon though, so my choice could change until Witcher 3. But I'm wondering, who is Shani?

Shani's a character in TW1. Young medic, longtime friend of Geralt and Dandelion. I don't think she was a major character in the books. She's important in TW1.

In TW1, you get a choice of romancing Triss or Shani. The one you do not choose will be very unhappy.

I said I'd stay with Triss, in The Witcher 2, and that's what I'll do. Geralt doesn't remember who he used to be, and he's forged new relationships now, and I'll remain loyal to Triss. (I may try the Yennifer story line though, just to experience it.)

If it's good, then I'll be torn. I'll need to eat doughnuts to solve this issue.

I'll side with Triss. The drama that would create would be epic.

Best not to be in the line of fire when that drama commences

Something that Geralt doesn't already know will almost certainly be revealed in TW3, which will make his decision (if he has to make this decision) even harder. It may be the return of Ciri, or the need to make a deal with the Emperor or the Wild Hunt, or something entirely unforeseen.

As of now, my Geralt's true love is still Yennefer, and he has to go to her. It will break his heart to turn down Triss after all they've been through, but he will have to do it.

That's going to happen no matter what. Could you imagine being in Geralt's shoes, having to make that decision in real life. Boy, I do not envy him.

Not if I have anything to say about it! :p

Personally I'll chose Yen, Because Geralt is crazy for her, he put all that effort in the books (he went to Nilfgaard to rescue her when he found out that she's not a traitor, among other things he did for her

In my opinion, with Triss was one night stand, although in the game was something more but for me she was taking advantage of him.

Shani was ok, but I think not to clearly, Geralt in TW1 saying that he could not stay with Shani and forge a family with Alvin because he was a witcher and he will put them in danger.

In my opinion these 3 women are the more important. If someone of you remember more share with us.

According to the books, yes I must admit that Yennefer was clearly his true love and both of them were willing to do almost anything to save the other one... from that point of view, Triss was sadly really nothing more that a short romance for Geralt and he still saw her merely as a frind. A great friend, but nothing more.

Luckily this is a RPG and I can finally make a decision which would make Geralt and Triss a couple, because I´ve always seen her as a better match for him than was Yennefer...

I think that I would go with Triss although I haven't read all the books thus far. Maybe I'll become a huge Yennefer fan after reading all the books but Triss is somehow a very nice and cute character.
