For a character,who does almost nothing,Triss gets lots of attention in the books,
Politics,as well as monster hunting and Geralt hanging out with his friends play a huge part in the books.Parallel worlds are a thing only in the last book,and the White Frost is not that important.

Hm, if I olny knew the games I would be more open to Yen, I guess. In my case it's because of the books that I'll never ever choose Yen
(Don't get me wrong : The character Yennefer is cool but the relationship to Geralt is disgusting.)
And I respect that as opposed to some here who just shit on Triss without any real reason..
For my Geralt: he did love Yen at a certain point but the memory loss changed things
He began to love Triss and even though his memories returned that didn't change, Yen and my Geralt are more like parents who are seperated now but still have a connection since they both care for Ciri a lot
Some doesn't like the books because of to much Yen in them. I hope they doesn't make a movie or a series based on the original story. God forbid for that! How much can a person take! (I'm being ironic of course).
I hope they'll make a TV series one day.This way we'll have even more Yen.The more,the better

Hahaha I am currently reading the books (Still not up to where Triss shows up) and im cringing at the thought that he is going to shut down Triss for Yen in the future. Shes really cold and any kind of tiny affection she showed towards Geralt did not start to appear until after the infamous love spell was cast.
Really not a fan of the Geralt - Yen relationship but the setting & story has a lot of potential for a TV series. Wonder if after GOT finishes it might be the next piece of fiction that's turned into a series.I hope they'll a TV series one day.This way we'll have even more Yen.The more,the better

I'm not a fan of the Geralt and Yen relationship (she was already shoved in my face enough in TW3) but thats not even the main reason (the whole Parallel worlds, Elder Blood etc. stuff is)
Considering the fact that the first three books were very political, with the last two books taking a more personal focus (the politics also did not see a TW3 quality drop)) along with the stuff you mentioned not really having that much of a big impact as you think. Elder blood only becomes truly important once more people learn about Ciri and all start creating their own reason to have her.
It depends on how I view the question. For me personally, I'd probably choose Triss for a relationship. However from a literary standpoint, I would choose Yen for Geralt. I prefer Yen from this perspective because she's a well-rounded, flawed character.
Whereas Triss is basically portrayed as a Mary Sue type of character in the games. She'd have been a more interesting character to me had the games focused a bit more on her flaws, which are really only seen in the books. Sure one can argue that we do see a bit of her manipulative side in taking advantage of Geralt's amnesia, but the games hardly even mention it.

There is a Polish TV series, not quite good though. It is based on short stories preceding the main saga, but 3 out of 13 episodes are completely made up and the rest is only inspired by short stories. As a hardcore fan I am not fond of too many changes to the source material. Also the budget is quite low so special effects...kind of suck.
On the other hand it has medieval atmosphere, nice music and Michal Zebrowski playing Geralt is very authentic.

Yep. A lot of truth in this. Guy is whipped beyond belief.
I don't believe Triss is higher in the polls because people haven't read the books. In fact I like Triss better than Yen because I have read the books, not to mention the time spent with her in the games.
