Truths For Mature Humans

Truths For Mature Humans1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die. Especially the porn bookmarks.2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.4. There is great need for a sarcasm font!5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet? 6. Was learning cursive really necessary? 7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighbourhood. 8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died. 9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least ‘kind of’ tired. 10. Bad decisions make good stories. 11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. 12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after CD/DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. 13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to. 14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.15. I think all freezers deserve a light as well. 16. I disagree with Kay Jewellers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Lite than Kay. 17. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option. Also "Avoid Toll Roads, Avoid Major Highways & Avoid Interstates.” 18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. 19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! 21. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever. 22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. 23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time - every time! 24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. (Ladies...Quit Laughing.)25. Those women who laughed should remember that NOT ONE of the wonderful labour saving devices you have, from blenders, to dish-washers, to washer & dryers, to toasters, to electric stoves, to vacuum cleansers, to refrigerators & freezers, to coffee makers, to radios, to TVs, to computers, etc., etc., were invented by WOMEN……. NOT ONE!!!

Wow...My opinion, serially:1. To be done only if the dead friend died of natural causes. Otherwise the best friend responsible for clearing History might have problems with the cops.2. But you need to push on bravely. There is always the chance that your opponent is as stupid as he looks.3. Depends on what the alternate to napping was.....4. Agreed.5. Don't6. Yes. For writing cards and stuff.7. You have to ask yourself what the average IQ of the human populace is, and you'll know the need.8. If falling asleep at the second line is "more interesting" than falling asleep in the first line, then yes.9. No living (truthful) human can.10. As long as they are not your own.11. Somewhere between entering the office building and reaching your office/cube.12. Not practical. Games started becoming ridiculous packs of 4-5 CDs and then DVDs became popular. Now we've reached the age of 3-4 DVDs. Soon the 5 DVD game will become the norm. Need a medium to hold it all in one disk. Preferably flash.13. Hail Microsoft!! (will insert the sarcasm font when released). In the meantime, use Open Office.14. The "Block" list was invented for them.15. Seconded16. No opinion17. Will become redundant as soon as the government declassifies files on its teleportation research. ;)18. Bored+not hungry: Sitting down for homework after a meal Hungry+not bored: Staying locked in your room for days without food playing the latest gaming sensation.19. Depends on who is to benefit from the information exchange. If it is the listener (you), ask as many times as needed. If it's for the speaker's benefit, you may nod the very first time itself. If the beneficiary is uncertain, the international standard is 3 "What"s before the smile and nod.20. Will do. Thanks for supporting the cause.21. Statement is especially not true for people who suffer from partial/complete loss of sphincter control.22. That's usually the case if you saved up for months to buy the watch of your dream, and finally bought it, and now the dial/band draws your eye rather than the hands/display. Or the "looking at watch" might be an exercise to draw public attention to the Dream Chronometer.23. I broke a clock this month itself after pushing it off the table in my sleep( not the first time either). Thus, statement is not universal.24. That can be attributed to the male pride. A helmet can be seen publicly, and the wearer called a wuss. The guard can be worn discretely. It is only after many accidents over a period of 100 years that we got the "excuse" to wear helmets without our manhood coming under scrutiny by those content with sitting on the sidelines criticizing everything from the shape of the sun to the shape of their b*lls25. The statement, often dismissed as chauvinism, is factually *probably* true, though I doubt any any study has actually been conducted in this.

Sad thing is, at 44, I can REALLY RELATE to some of these already! These the ones im guilty of already!2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.LOL, this is sooo true. I distinctly remember the day I shifted from teenager/20 something to adult and realized I wasnt evn close to being as smart as I thought I had always been!3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.LOL, to true, I currently sleep 12-16 hours a day! Cats are in heaven because of it, they just sit patiently beside me on sofa waiting for me to pass out and lay down so 1 can crawl onto my chest and sleep and other can hug my ankle and sleep!4. There is great need for a sarcasm font!Nothing more needs to be said!9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least ‘kind of’ tired. LOL, to true, I currently sleep 12-16 hours a day! Cats are in heaven because of it, they just sit patiently beside me on sofa waiting for me to pass out and lay down so 1 can crawl onto my chest and sleep and other can hug my ankle and sleep!10. Bad decisions make good stories. ROFL, so true and no it doesnt have to be someone elses, it just has tobe old enough you can pass it off as a mispent youth!IE: I ever mention the time a freind and I chased Buffalo in a feild with a Fiat Spider convertable?11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day. Id comment but that requires to much typeing!12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after CD/DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again. (editor note: screw CD/DVD, I still have 120 Vinyl Albums in my collection)13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to. 14. I keep some people's phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call. No, I dont have call display, what ever are you talking of?18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger. *pats belly, hmmm pop tarts!!!*19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?ROFL, I gotta admit, I kinda do this online as well with some posters looking for a cyber fight20. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters! One of lives little pleasures!22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is. HEY, its a nice watch24. The first testicular guard, the "Cup," was used in Hockey in 1874 and the first helmet was used in 1974. That means it only took 100 years for men to realize that their brain is also important. (Ladies...Quit Laughing.)(Editor note: I dont know why but I find this hillarious and so true as I didnt have to wear a mask or standardized helmet when I started minor hockey)Anyways, those the ones that already apply to me :)

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font!Agreed.5. How the hell are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?I had trouble about this before. It’s just unfoldable but being the intelligent creatures we are humans have found a solution: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHTyH2nuFAwAnd something for the bachelors: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5AWQ5aBjgE9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least ‘kind of’ tired. No, I’m not tired at all.13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to. I’ve been through this. Also, I learned never ever to write a letter in a web browser (e-mail, post in a forum etc.). Word processors are less risky.18. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.Sometimes, when I stay up late night I go like “Hmm, I’m hungry.” –Me opens the fridge.- No, I’m just bored. -Closes its door- “I better sleep.”19. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said? I don’t know but it sure is embarrasing.22. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.I don’t wear a watch. Just looking at my cellphone 2 consecutive times.23. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'd bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time - every time!Sometimes I don’t even remember I hit the snooze button, and I’m already 2 hours late for he school.“What? Ten o’clock? I’m sure I set the alarm last night.”Others truths:26. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this — ever.27. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Bugger!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to an answering machine. What did you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away? 28. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste! 29. Sometimes, I’ll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it. 30. I would rather try to carry ten over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take two trips to bring in my groceries. 31. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I’m trying to finish a text. 32. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber and dumber every year? Yes, they do.33. There’s no worse feeling than that millisecond you’re sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far. 34. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what my mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists. Why? Because they can get past narrow places and you can’t? A reader nicknamed “Irene” at Cottonwood Communications Blog: “That millisecond talked about in #33 is called an “OH NO”second. Which is defined as: that millisecond after you have done something you shouldn’t have but now realize it’s too late to late to do anything about it.

LOL, o true, so true!Others truths:26. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this — ever.LOL (embarressed) this is so true!28. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste!Doesnt really apply to me, Ive stoppewd cleaning it to that level, now a days, tidy with room is good enough for me! :) 29. Sometimes, I’ll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it. LOL, so true. I expect there going to be ALOT of new adults saying this about the movie Natural Born Killer that kids though was so great back in the day! *I thought it was freaking terrible for the record*30. I would rather try to carry ten over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take two trips to bring in my groceries. ROFL, and the swearing when I have to leave that one bag behind!!!!!32. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber and dumber every year? Yes, they do.OMG, this is so true! And the internet makes them even worse. Now, not only are they dumber, they also ruder about being dumber!Kids today would not last 10 minutes in the era I grew up in where it was ok to spank and discipline the children (yours or not)34. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what my mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists. Oh so true. Nothing I hate more then THAT cyclist that is in my lane rather then over to side of road!I just lay on the horn now until they move (which amazingly still takes them half a block to figure out they should move).HATE Bicyclists, HATE THEM!

People are actually making wills for their electronic assets. You never really think about what will happen with your computer, facebook, myspace, etc. I want all that stuff deleted when I die and my computer cremated with me.I am with you about the cd/dvd thing. I don't want to go to blu-ray, I don't want to collect anything else. I still haven't gotten rid of my video cassette collection, even though I no longer have a VCR. I do however still have a video rewinder. ______________________I keep my game up and mind sharp with purest colloids.

when you die, you won't know if people are laughing at your midget porn collection, so who cares?

*Dies* I relate to way too many of these, but these particularly stand out...12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after CD/DVDs? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.I fully intend to stick with MP3 downloads from now on because of how many 8 tracks and vinyl albums I have collecting dust already...26. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this — ever.A label reading "Hand wash only" has always sent up a red flag with me that screams "DO NOT BUY!"**New Addition:#35: How about when you reach the point where you go "I can't believe they expect to pull that crap on their parents!", then realize, "Hey! But... Now wait... It was different when I did it... " *Shifty eyes*All I can say here is that is sucks when one reaches the age where they see things from both sides of the coin. Alas... This is where wisdom is born.
