Tryin' to manage this stuff ...

Hi everybody,

I've waited quite a while for REDkit because I had some nice landscape ideas I wanted to try. Sadly this is my first time trying to work with modding tools and I'm got some problems which I'd like to ask help for.

1. I need a rough, high mountain-range with some possible high valleys for potential villages/ruins/castles/whatever. I watched the three-part tutorial by Klabautermann which helped a lot, but my mountains are more looking like hills, if you get my meaning. They're rounded, lack the massive base of true mountains and the ragged sharpness. Right now it's like this: View attachment 59

2. I'm not quite happy with my sea. I'd like some serious waves crashing against the cliffs and I tried to get that by using this tutorial: http://wiki.cdprojektred.com/redkit/Get+the+water+you+want

Sadly I just can't get my water to look like a high-going sea. You can get an impression in the mountain-picture.

3. How do I use the vegetation-tool effectively? I managed to to combine different vegetation in one "brush" but it looks very generic. Is there some way to add a "random feature" or smth like that?

Sorry for any mistakes, I'm no native speaker by any means. Still, any help is greatly appreciated.

So Long,

Jakob

PS. Is there a good tutorial how to build a castle or city or some such? Haven't managed to find anything and don't really dare to just try it. ;-)
