:think:Hmm after Scenarios and evolving Card's maybe we're now getting a important Location / Fortress Card per Faction? Maybe as some kind of support Cards for some Archetypes.

In that case we might finally see Kaer Morhen as a card.
Honestly that location is too important (and honestly picturesque) to not be added as a card (or board).
Also they did not yet exclude the possiblity of new Scenarios and stated during the last expansion that that one in specific had no new Scenarios.

The four letters in the corners spell "mage". (Upper left -> upper right -> bottom left -> bottom right)

Edit: Reddit beat me to it again, apparently. I need to start checking the comments first.

Before before before: games were decided by silver spies (+summoning circle).
Before before: games were decided who had better merigold halestorm or shupe.
Before: games were decided who drew bomb heaver (and who didn't).
Today: games are decided who has better heatwave target.

Nothing is changed.

I did watch quite a few games today, and im usually very critical of the meta and the tournament decks being all the same, but at least we got 2 variations of NR (Shieldwall and the Mobilization control), SK (Warriors and Wangid's Battle Trance) and ST (Symbiosis and Precision Strike), SY (Passiflora and Fireswarm) and MO (OH and Kolemoen's Kelly deck).

The best moment of what ive seen was when Paja killed his own unit to destroy Kolemoen's Kelly, reminded me of the good times when we would boost the opponents to burn them with a Villentretenmerth

There appears to also have been a new coin leeked. A sun on it, and the same four letters as on the cardback.

A rather angry-looking sun.

I disagree, of course key cards are always important, however there are so many substitutes for Heatwave, even against greedy decks, you can also always use Geralt etc to punish them, not everyone is running Heatwave and even in the open there were several times Heatwave got less than 10 points.
Due to the game being a card game it will always be somewhat draw dependent, however the game is a lot, lot, lot less binary than it ever was before in its history and to be honest I would rather understand your point if you would complain about drawing key golds (like Gedyneith) and the issues if missing them even in Round 3.

Ties to Nilfgaard, what looks like a form of pseudo-ascension, horrific experiment or something else and the constant reminder of the word MAGE, is the new journey for Vilgefortz ???
Honestly a Vilgefortz journey would be kind of cool and an ideal item to equip would be the iron staff Vilgefortz uses in the books to beat Geralt to a pulp during their first confrontation.
My prediction would be an expansion centered around the books (which would be supported by the image of Strygga castle or Thanedd) and a journey based on Vilgefortz or mages more in general, although the journeys thus far have always been focused on one character, so ...
Also after the Ciri Journey and constantly seeing even the most unfitting images (like the last ornaments) I am starting to feel less and less bad for her, considering what Vilgefortz intends to do with her.

As a reminder, today's stream will begin at 4 PM CET, which is one hour earlier than 4 PM CEST. Won't change anything for those whose countries follow the same daylight savings cycle as Poland, but will make a difference for others.

If the expansion is around mages and Thanedd, i will get my hopes up they finally add a card for Tissaia, im pretty sure she's the most important mage of the books that still doesnt have a card, that is criminal at this point.

According to the dev stream, new journey will start as soon as this one ends, but no balance patch at all.

I guess i'll skip Gwent entirely that month, just need something to play until the 19th when Cyberpunk comes out (and dont know if i'll care about Gwent expansion if im too deep in CDPR's other game)

(EDIT) After the final match of the open, they showed that little teaser and the date for Masters - 5/6th December, with the image of that revealed character. If i had to bet, that will also be the date of the expansion, maybe immediately after, so 7th Dec, which i think was when MoO released last year!

No balance changes, not even to Shield Wall is very disappointing, however with the draft mode there will hopefully be a decent alternative until either SW gets its deserved hits or the expansion powercreeps it.
I really like the look of the expansion though and if the journey will be based on Vilgefortz it will definitely be my favourite journey thus far.

Doesn't Tissaia commit suicide after getting used by Vilgefortz ?
Unless I am mistaken she dies before she could do a whole lot in the books and we do not have a card for some of the other highest ranked mages, let alone historic mages (e.g. Alzur) either.

Is the artwork all that is new/announced? Could someone start a thread with a total summary including all artwork so that we have it consolidated in one place?

She does commit suicide, that doesnt invalidate all her feats and her importance in the events happening in the books. There are no other high ranking mages active in the books that still need a card, there are those historic mages, but there's little information on them (and yes Alzur is one of the strongest guesses for this mysterious character).
