TW1 50% off at GOG (4.99 Yanks)

Despite owning the DVD version of the game for a long while now, this offer was too tempting to pass off. So I'm now the proud owner of the GOG version of the game as well. If others haven't bought it over there yet, I suggest you do just to show the appreciation to CDPR for the fantastic game that is The Witcher

(There doesn't seem to be a general TW1 forum any more, so didn't know where to put this.)

Same here, I like to have such an excellent game at the ready without having to look for my boxed Enhanced Edition ;-)

I originally bought the retail version of TW1 Enhanced Edition, and then awhile later I got it on Steam to have a digital backup (and also bought several copies as gifts for friends). Now I bought it on GOG as well :D I don't think I had the artbook before (I couldn't find it in the Steam extras) so now I can look forward to browsing through the artbook :D

Also I need to hurry up and finish playing TW2 Enhanced Edition so that I can look at the threads about it :p After my TW2 patch got corrupted I decided it would be best to just download the game fresh from GOG (yay for the GOG backup copy :D) so now hopefully I won't get any conflicts from mods I had previously installed or anything like that. The GOG downloader was very good. My internet is slow, but the GOG downloader was consistently downloading at around the max speed possible on my connection, and it actually listens when I tell it to pause or resume downloading (unlike Steam which ignores me half the time :p).

Just got both TW1 and TW2EE from GOG, though i already had the physical copy of TW2 (wish i had known about GOG earlier, the goddamn physical copy here at gamestop cost 50 euro, wtf). But hell, only once in a lifetime do i see a developer put their customer's benefit on top like CDPR. Every penny well spent i must say.

But anyone have any idea why on GOG it says the set up files for TW2EE is 15.6 GB yet when i downloaded it, it only said 14.99 GB on the GOG downloader? I retried the download but it still said the same. The game installed and played perfectly though.

Because there is diffrence between file size and file size on disk. Check any catalog on your HDD, press right -> properties. There will be two numbers "file size" and "file size on disk".

So in case of TW2 you download 14.99 GB but it need 15.6 GB on HDD.

Yes i do know that there is a difference, but it is very small, in my case i did check , and it says both file size and file size on disc are 14.99GB, and i did see some guy posted that his downloader downloaded 18GB but after merging and stuff, he got exactly 15.6 GB. Anyway i think as long as the game works, i don't need to think too much about it though.

I bought a digital TW1 EE (I also own a retail version) together with a preorder for Botanicula, only to find out that GOG would be giving TW1 EE away to those who preordered Botanicula in compensation for the latter appearing in the latest Humble Indie Bundle. Such bad timing! Heh heh.

Still, it's only 5 bucks that I would have spent in chocolate or alcohol anyway.
