[TW1] [mod] Longer-Lasting Swallow

For what it's worth, here's a modified swallow that lasts 6 hours. Seems to work alright. Extract into "The Witcher\Data\Override\".

Just what I was wandering about ! Great !How did you get your hands on potion's files (.ncs) ? Unbiffed from ... ? (and more : .ncs seems encrypted / compressed, what tool did you use to make this readable / editable, please ?) Didn't found any ncs files in items_00 so where are those hidden ?I'm gonna have a closer look on game file, and thanks again !Edit : Just checked witcher wiki / File formats and so on .. not a single word about ncs file (on my system, recognized as Lotus Notes Content ...) and askin google (i.e) for ncs file reader or other lotus notes ... reader doesn't seem to give me any clue. Help please ?

Scripts are in Data\scripts00.bif. Potion script names seem to match the item file (it_potion_004.uti, it_potion_004a.uti, it_potion_004r.uti, it_potion_004n.uti => it_potion_004.ncs). I used the PRC Compiler (requires NWN1 to be installed) to decompile the ncs file to byte code (cannot be recompiled) and just looked for the correct duration value. 2 hours => 120 minutes => (0x)0000078, then hex edited the original ncs file. No magic involved, no grand changes possible. :-[

Uhm well, just downloaded the PRC Compiler .. of course, no NWN 1 on my machine .. Tried to use, place on desktop (no effect except a quick "DOS" window, opening - closing), same when .exe is in the same folder that .ncs file (that I finally found ^^) ... Gonna take back my "old" HexEdit to see that :) thanks for helping !

It's a console application, which is why it behaves that way. Start => run => type "cmd", hit enter. Navigate to the folder where the compiler is located ("cd.." for parent directory, "cd FOLDERNAME" for subdirectory, "dir" for directory listing). To decompile a script type "The_PRC1098057143201nwnnsscomp.exe -d SCRIPTNAME.ncs" (no quotes). Of course, it won't work without NWN1.

Well seems I can barely edit the original .ncs directly in Hex mode, then save it to my override folder. Don't want to buy NWN1 (used one or new) only for this. Gonna do a quick test right now.

Nice find! :D I think it would be neat to make the over-used potions more Toxic to use, incouraging more search for good potion mixes such as Albedo.I do not have the editor, but I think I noticed the toxicity change random a bit around a given number. I have NWN but no longer play it.

Can you guys post these on someplace other than that crap RapidShare site? After downloading 3 mods I am no longer able to download anymore since I refuse to pay for that site! If it's not possible to find another one no problem, I have my own website so I post the stuff I want to post on there,, never looked for someplace else to post them myself.

Wait 5 (I guess it's 5, maybe less) minutes to be able to download again from Rapidshare.

Hi, I have made swallow using the automatic feature, but can't make it now using mixed ingredients. My formulary says that I did not have all the required ingredients and will only allow me to use 3 ingredients. When I have tried using 3 ingredients, my ingredients disappear, but I have no potion. Please help!!!!

can anyone else upload this swallow mod onto somewhere else (eg mediafire)? Rapidshare and our ISP doesn't get along because our dang ISP uses transparent proxy servers (which rapidshare thinks incorrectly has an IP address that has exceeded usage)... :(

Nice mod, just would like to change it to 3 hrs: 2 is too little, 6 is too much imo. I opened the ncs in a hex editor, but can't figure out what to change: I did a search for hex 33 36 30 (360 dec). Would you please post the Hex/Dec address to change please? For example, Albedo_buff starts at 387 (hex) / 903 (dec).Well, I reinstalled NWN1 so I could decompile the ncs file and could not find any reference to duration or 120 in the original or 360 in this version. :wall:

Thanks for the mod, HS_Tri, and for the details, Olminator. In case more people want to alter the file to different durations, here's a little extra information to save time, based on Olminator's post.To edit how long Swallow lasts:1. Open the file in a HEX editor and scroll to line 320. Freeware Hex Editor XVI32 http://www.chmaas.handshake.de/delphi/freeware/xvi32/xvi32.htm2. Multiply the hours you want the potion to work by 60.3. Convert the number of minutes to HEX. 2 hours (120 minutes) = 00 78 [Default] 3 hours (180 minutes) = 00 B4 4 hours (240 minutes) = 00 F0 5 hours (300 minutes) = 01 2C 6 hours (360 minutes) = 01 68 7 hours (420 minutes) = 01 A4 8 hours (480 minutes) = 01 E04. Edit the 7th and 8th byte to the appropriate HEX number.
