[TW1]Strands of Destiny Mod

Hey guys,Just letting everyone know that Strands of Destiny's website has gone live at http://www.witchermod.com. We have some basic information about the mod and what we plan to do with it, as well as some concept sketches. We plan to have some renders of the new characters and locations over the course of the next few weeks, and baring any delay in Djinni launching, we plan to launch the prologue and Act 1 of the mod by late May, early June in a beta state. From there, each Act will launch every three months, with the final mod releasing with all acts compiled together upon completion. To give you an idea of Strands of Destiny, the game takes place four years after The Witcher. After an uneventful winter in Kaer Morhen, Geralt of Rivia is traveling south to find new witcher contracts with Triss Merigold. Upon arriving in the forests surrounding the town of Carreas, the Strands of Destiny once again wrap their tendrils around Geralt’s future. Soon he is drawn into a plot that transcends his world, and old friends once again stand at his side to answer destiny’s call. It takes place southeast of Temeria, in the country of Aedirn. Geralt will visit such places as the dwarven homeland of Mahakam; Vengerberg, capital of Aedirn; the Blue Mountains; and Dol Blathanna, home of the elven queen Enid.Strands of Destiny will be adding in new features like a Justice System (you will not be allowed to just break into homes and steal, you can be caught and thrown in jail....however this may open opportunities for new quests and characters to meet), Hunting (Geralt will be able to hunt animals in the wild in each act and use their meats for food, their parts for ingredients, and their pelts for gold), and more. Thanks,William PhelpsTMG Studios

Building them out of 3D Studio max from scratch. Been a long process, but has worked out so far. Waiting to see how exactly the toolset functions for importing the 3D assets and how to utilize them.

Here's a few new concept pieces showing some later areas in the mod. These cannot be found on the website currently.
The treacherous trails of the Blue Mountains showing an abandoned tower in the distance.
Break the law, and Geralt will end up here.

He is one of the major characters in the mod. We cannot divulge any other information at the time. :)

will the script be voiceovered ? What is the "innovative real-time combat" ?

Yes, the entire script will be voice over in English, while text will be in English, Polish, and German. If time permits, we plan to also expand to voice overs in Polish and German. As for real-time combat, we are keeping what makes The Witcher's combat intuitive, while adding new features like being able to use throwing daggers (like seen in the final cutscene) to stun, subdue, or otherwise kill an opponent.

It would be great to speed up Geralt's finishing moves or make a quick kill while you're surrounded. Present finishers take too long. On the other side it raises up difficulty,

Many things are changing when the enhanced edition launches, so areas like speed of fighting is being kept on the side until we see what exactly is changed with the patches.

Why can't you use Yennefer instead of Triss (Just an Idea :) ), because I am sure many players will love to meet Yennefer as a new character.

The script is closed at this time. We may introduce some changes (and probably we will have to), but not any major ones.

I think adding Jennefer in a mod would be a bad idea.We don't know what CDPR would like to present in possible Witcher 2 so I think it would be best if the mod remained "neutral" so it wouldn't collide with the earlier stories.I wish all the best to the Mod Team :)
