I've read all the previous posts, but at the last step it gives me "Could not find the main class:javaw. Program will now exit.

I've installed the latest java and running Win 7 64-bit

The shortcut I'm currently running and giving me this error is:

C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -Xmx256m -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" javaw -DTW.language=3 -jar "C:\Users\xxx\Desktop\TWEditorEnhanced (1)\TWEditor.jar"

Generally speaking the easiest way is to copy and paste TW Editor (the 256 kb) in your witcher folder and once that`s done right click it and send to desktop and then click the new shortcut to open the save editor .

Since my witcher copy is in C:\GAMES\The Witcher Enhanced Edition the target line is the shortcut should look like this . Feel free to copy and paste in your shortcut tab
javaw -DTW.install.path="C:\Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

If your game is installed to program files it should look like this
javaw -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

64 bit (substitute your install directory between the quotation marks)
javaw -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (X86)\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

If none of these work then try this one (substitute your install directory between the quotation marks)
C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -DTW.install.path="C:\Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

I'm having trouble getting this to work. Each time I try to start it, no matter what I do, it can't determine the installed language.

Could someone help me out with this?

Heap Size: -Xmx256m

Install directory: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition (Should I add \Data here?)
Program files (x86) is actually called Programfiler (x86) for me since it's a Norwegian OS, But this doesn't matter right?

Language: -DTW.language=3
I assume this is the installed language for the witcher, not the OS right?

It looks like this for me now:
Target: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\TWEditor\TWEditor.jar javaw -Xmx256m -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

Start in: C:\Users\Administrator\Desktop\TWEditor

So yeah, i specified the installed language, and everything else, though I'm not sure if each should have their own javaw, -jar, and TWEditor.jar line, if I do that i run out of space, can't write anything else.

Any help is appreciated! And please tell me if i forgot to mention something that would be of help to you in this case! :D

I would copy and paste the TWEditor (250 KB) into the Witcher/Data folder then right click and send to desktop . Then right click the new shortcut and select properties and then the shortcut tab and in the target line try this by copy and paste
-DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

In the startup line it should read as
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data

If that doesn`t work the try this one also by copy and paste
-DTW.install.path="C:\Programfiler (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

The start in line should look like this
C:\Programfiler (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data

After making the necessary changes to either one you end up using don`t forget to click apply and ok .

All right, so now it says it can't find the witcher installation directory.

It looks like this:

Target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition\Data\TWEditor.jar" javaw -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition(Tried \Data here too)" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

Start in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition\Data"

So yeah, at least it's progressing I suppose! :) Thanks for your help!

How is the game listed in the Steam common folder ? The Witcher or The Witcher Enhanced Edition . Also try capitalizing the first letter of each word in your target line for example "The Witcher Enhanced Edition" also try the copying and pasting form my previous post .

Exactly like I wrote in my first post, which is:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition

No upper-case letters at all on the last folder there.
Also tried capitalizing, still won't locate the witcher installation directory. :/

From where did you get the TW Editor ? There were 2 versions available , one for the witcher and the other was for the witcher enhanced edition and they are not interchangeable . The one for the enhanced edition should come as a zipped file labeled TWEditorEnhanced .
Did you also try the "Programfiler (X86)" option
You do have Java installed correct ? If so what version do you have installed

Yeah I do have it installed.
Downloaded the file from this link.

I checked the Java version before I made the first post, I'm running version 1.7, so it should be OK.

And yeah I did try the Programfiler (x86) option, no change.

A question, do I have to add javaw ... -jar TWEditor.jar before and after each -DTW. command? Or does the target line look like it should work as it is?

Target:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition\Data\TWEditor.jar" javaw -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition(Tried \Data here too)" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

No . But if you go to the witcher/Data folder and right click the TW Editor and select "Open with" and choose Default program then navigate to your windows>system32 folder and scroll until you see javaw and select it then your target line should change to something like this . I`m copy and pasting the target line from my version .
C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -DTW.install.path="C:\Games\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

After another little bit of back and forth, it finally works. This is what my lines look like now:

Target:
C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

Start in:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition\Data"

When I did the "Open with" stuff you said, no change. However when I added "C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe" from your target line; it worked wonders. I'm guessing the "javaw" command i've been using so far was just a shortened version of that, but didn't work for some reason.

Thanks for taking the time to help Tommy!

Hi guys
When I try to run the editor I get the "Unable to locate The Witcher installation directory"

Game is installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher Enhanced Edition Directors Cut
And the saves are in
C:\Users\Durzo\Documents\The Witcher\saves
I tried copying the file to those location and sending it to desktop but it did not work.
What should I put in the short cut ?

No need to worry about save games when installed correctly the Editor will pick them up
Start by copy and pasting the TWEditor file(250 or 256 KB in your witcher/Data folder . When that`s done right click the TWEditor and select "send to desktop" . Right click the new shortcut you just made and select properties then in the Shortcut tan paste this .
-DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar . Then retry the editor .

If no go then go back to your witcher/Data folder and locate the TWEditor and right click and select "open With" and using the browse button navigate to
C:\Windows\System32 and scroll til you see javaw and select it then copy and paste this in the shortcut tab if it isn`t there already .
C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

That seems to heave solved that problem but now I get the "unable to determine installed language" error. Both the system and the game are in English so I don't know where is this coming form.
I used both Javaw in the system 32 and in program files. Both gave the same error.
When I added the -DTW.language=3 it showed that localised string database for dialog_x.tlk does not exist. I tried different numbers but same error comes up.
