I'm really stuck both in game proggression and in this one

Well my path now are
Target C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -DTW.install.path="J:\Steam Library\SteamApps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data" -DTW.language=3 -jar TWEditor.jar

Start in : "J:\Steam Library\SteamApps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data"

And encountered an error with notice :
Exception during program initialization
java.io.IOException : Localized Strings database J:\Steam Library\SteamApps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition\Data\Data\dialog_3.tlk does not exist
TWEditor.main.main(Main.java:203)

In the previous posts, I read I need to delete the -DTW.language=3 part but the error would be that language error or such

Oh my god, I Can't proceed after killing Dagon. And basically this bug is already exist since 2008 CMIIW. Should they, the CD Projekt, release an update for this frustating bug even it is an outdated game?

Finally managed to use the editor, I put the jar file outside the data folder and it worked. But unfortunately I still unable or not knowing how to fix the glitch after the dagon kill. Wiki said, barengar supposed to be confront me when I'm about leaving the black tern island.

Well seems I need help in this one

The save game editor cannot fix bugged saves . It can fix things like quest items that were either lost or not given . I`m afraid that my knowledge of Djinni is minimum at best and nowhere what it needs to be in order to fix a save . What I may be able to do however is send you one of my saves from the beginning of Act 4 .

Logged onto my long lost forgotten account to express my thanks for helping me get this work.
I'll explain how I got it working me in gratitude. I have Windows 7 64bit, and have the game with steam. I also have Java 1.7 as of writing this and it works fine.

Before I used this line I had every error under the sun, including language errors, unable to access the jar file, problem finding save files, and a few more that I can't remember. My favourite was where I ran the shortcut and absolutely nothing happened.

My shortcut's target is:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe" -Xmx256m -DTW.language=3 -DTW.install.dir="G:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition" -DTW.data.dir="C:\Users\David\Documents\The Witcher\saves" -jar TWEditor.jar

- You will need to change 'David' to the name of your windows account where the save data is.
- Of course you will also need to change the letter of the drive to reflect where your install is, as well its pathway. G:\Games\.... is not standard.

My shortcut's start in is:
"G:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition".

- I have both the jar file and the shortcut file in my main game folder for simplicities sake. (Which is in my steam folders because I own the game through steam)
- As a fail safe I also copied the jar file to the games /data folder, but I'm not sure if it was necessary, I just did it while reading through this thread (this should be stickied if it isn't already).

I did recently install the Steam version of the witcher and got the editor working successfully . I see you have Steam on your "D" drive but I also notice two instances of Steam . Is this correct . Try copy\paste the TWEditor (250 KB) in the main witcher folder then right click and send to desktop . Then right click the shortcut you just made and select properties and in the target line try this . You can coy and paste in the taret line f you wish .

Ahh don`t worry about your English . Your trying to learn another language and that is very commendable . So are you still getting any errors when trying to open the editor ?

In the target line try changing to DTW.install.path instead of the .dir

It looks like you have TWEditor installed to the main witcher folder . If you do then try this in your target line . Just copy the following and paste

C:\Windows\System32\javaw.exe -Xmx256m -DTW.language=3 -DTW.install.path="C:\Games\Steam\steamapps\common\the witcher enhanced edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

Try removing the quotes from the 1st part of the target line
C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre7\bin\javaw.exe -Xmx256m -DTW.language=3 -DTW.install.path="C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\The Witcher Enhanced Edition" -jar TWEditor.jar

hi guys i have downloaded the editor but i have no idea how to install it im not really tech savy so if there is anyone out there that can explain on how to install it much appreciated. Before anyone says anything i have read the read me and i have no idea about making these short cuts.

It's a Java program. You need to install Java runtime first (if you didn't yet). You can get one here: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jre7-downloads-1880261.html

Then open the shell (cmd.exe), navigate to the directory where you unpacked the editor (using cd commands for example), and then run the editor as per readme (using javaw).

Since I don`t know where you have the game installed I can only give general instructions . Once you have the zip file downloaded then simply extract to a subdirectory or folder . Now you should have a folder containing 3 files , the TWEditor jar file , a shortcut , and a readme . The only file we are interested in is the TWEditor.jar file which should be either 250 or 256 KB .
Right click and select copy on the TWEditor.jar file then go to your game installation and open the witcher folder and to the right in anu open area right click again and this time select paste . If done correctly you should now have a copy of the TWEditor in your witcher folder .

Now right click again on the TWEditor and look for "Send to" and select desktop . You should now have a shortcut to the TWEditor on your desktop . If so then close all open windows and double click on the TWEditor shortcut you just made . You may be presented with an error and if so what does it say .
