TW2 from Steam

What do you think of TW2 using STEAMworks tools? It would be good for developers (free for use) and users. Think about it: online activation, STEAM Community, autoupdates, achievements, steam cloud, etc.http://www.steampowered.com/steamworks/

I woul like to have TW2 on Steam, its so much easier to get updates and other stuff. I think that would be a great idea.

While i do not detest steam, id prefer the Witcher 2 in my hands.Considering the fact the Witcher's boxart is so fantastic to display and the amount of goodies in the box makes it a MUST HAVE for me.Unlike some modern games that include a disc in a plastic box, and a 8 page black and white manual.I will buy the Boxed version of the Witcher over any other form, any day.

One of the features of STEAMworks is that... you can buy your retail game AND register it on STEAM. You don't have to buy it on STEAM Store.

No thanks, I prefer it on a physic disc. I'm ok if it is optional but a big NO to an steam exclusive or anything related to online activations and such stuff.

Is this going to be like Empire Total War where you have to install it along with the game to play? If so, I really don't like it. I hate having to installl secondary software, that I personally have no use for, with my game in order to play.

I rather the game not use steamwork. I like to decide where to install my games, and when to update them and not be hindered when I try to mod it.Also, while steam does have the offline mode, it adds an extra layer of annoyance when you try to play games in the offline mode. And every 30 days you are required to go online at least once.I prefer the Impulse:Reactor talked about here at RPS much better. I don't need to install anything extra if I don't want to.

I would say it's probably unlikely we'll use Steamworks, simply because we don't want to limit the game's online sales just to Steam, or have any issues if their servers are down, etc.

I hope that will be the case. Have you guys looked at the Impulse: Reactor at all? It really is much more gamer friendly. Regardless, please at least make the game available on Impulse. And PLEASE PLEASE give us fans in the US some REAL collector's Edition to drool over. :)

Will Steam NOT sell a game over there site if it requires the new upcoming Impulse Reactor 2?

I just hope that TW2 will be available on Steam, but not required if you have a physical copy.

Same.It would be nice though if I bought a Physical Copy, I had the option of NOT using Steam or allowing the game to be converted to Steam files - a la Dark Messiah.

I would prefer to buy my copy on Steam. It doesn't matter to me what others do, largely, but I think I kinda like some of Steam's services and such. They make gaming more fun for me. So yeah, I think I'd prefer if TW2 was released on Steam.

There is a great deal of buzz around TW2 as of late and lots of hype, and lots of people talking about their pre-order. What has me scratching my head would be is that people are buying this off STEAM? Why? Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't GOG have the better deal here? What I'm most curious about is if CDProjekt has some kind of deal with STEAM. I just want to make sure my money is going to the right people for this game. Buying it off steam just feels like I'm throwing more money at Gabe Newell, but I could see why people would want a steam version. Does GOG/CDProjekt benefit more, or less from steam sales, versus say buying it off GOG?I haven't pre-ordered yet, as my hands feel tied, I loved the first game, and I just want to make sure the right people get the message. I tend to feel I'm voting with my wallet, and I would be excited to see the game sell well over "1.5 million" copies this time.Thoughts?
