TW2 Game Guide?

TW2 Game Guide?

I feel bound to get myself into trouble over this one but here goes... TW2 is perhaps the first game ever to include a Game Guide. For what purpose do any of you 'inexperienced' or 'experienced' WT2 gamers use the Guide? Depending on what path choices are taken it looks like one might use the Guide to be as certain as possible not to miss any side quests before advancing the main story?? Or, regardless, am I better off not using it for any reference? I wish at this very very early point in the game that the Guide could have been written more as a Tutorial, for instance. Advice?

Yes, a 'getting started tutorial' is exactly what I'm looking for. The in-game tutorial flashes up on the screen and disappears before I've taken full note of what it says. So one of the first things I've learned is to stop the game and go into the Journal to fully read what was just on the screen.

I've also discovered that there doesn't seem to be any 'Search' in these forums to find topics on such things as 'tutorials', or the Game Guide?

I mostly used the game guide after I had completed each chapter to see what I had missed. I did look at it for advice on a few boss battles though and it contained a pretty big spoiler so I think you should avoid using the game guide until you've finished the game twice.

If you need help on anything specific, then you can make a thread here and request hints without major spoilers :)

By now I think it has all the quests on it :) If you type the name of the quest in the search box it will give you a mini-walkthrough for that quest.

There are more guides on the web as good as Witcher Wiki:
- Witcher 2 on Gamepressure. com http://guides.gamepressure.com/thewitcher2assassinsofkings/
- Witcher 2 on Gamebanshee.com http://www.gamebanshee.com/thewitcher2/walkthrough.php

These two are the most completed and detailed, imho.
But that's true, our wikia's better :)

I second this. Gamepressure guides are always great, they just take some time.

I also used the Gamepressure ones when I needed anything. I didn't actually realise I had an official game guide until I'd finished the first playthrough.
