Decision of XB1 preload = Microsoft@sidspyker I do not understand why do not preload even now, X1 is already 2-3 weeks that the preload, and do not understand why we (PC & PS4) we have to wait, activate it immediately preload give us other important days to download the game .
Well .... I do not understand this waiting.
You mean that they deleted video on demand? At least thats what i think of what VOD is.No, they didn't. In fact, gog removed the VOD from that event.
What? CD Projekt decide when to turn the Preload, decides not Microsoft or Sony.Decision of XB1 preload = Microsoft
Decision of PS4 preload = Sony
Decision of PC preload = CDPR
I don't know about Sony but CDPR might be busy with something that is holding them or it's just a decision they made I don't know, Miles Toast said that the PC preload will start in a matter of days so that's okay with me as long as we have around 1 week time to preload, beside I cannot do anything with that preload until 19th so what's the point of preloading a month earlier like XB1.
GOG.com is owned by CDPR, it's their sister company so yes it's CDPR who'll decide when to enable preload on PC. As for the why they don't allow preload ? I don't know and don't really blame them, it's one of their most anticipated game so allowing preload way earlier could be dangerous don't you think ? people can actually start tinkering with files and all that stuff (specially on PC).What? Anyway, if it were true, why they do not activate immediately preload PC? So there is no slowdown in Servers, do not understand why wait.
The different platforms have different policies for when preloads are available. IIRC on PC and PS4 it's usually up to a week before the release date, for XBO it can vary greatly, from a week up to a month.GOG.com is owned by CDPR, it's their sister company so yes it's CDPR who'll decide when to enable preload on PC. I blame Microsoft for allowing it way earlier then it should be, some might think otherwise and say that it's good for XB1 owners but if we see it as big picture then it only increases anxiety for others and more questions for CDPR.
As far as I remember games automatically update on GOG so when you download them they come updated so your reason could be valid. It could be for any number of reasons, they're digital copies afterall, what if they want to ship it with the Day1 patch already applied? Complete speculation of course, potentially 100% wrong but something to think about.
It looks more like a PR decision to me instead of policies, I mean they show PC footage on Xbox Channel and now no footage at all but on the other side they are so efficient as to enable preload one month ago.The different platforms have different policies for when preloads are available. I don't see reason to blame anyone.
If you mean the "piracy" unfortunately there will always be, if they decide to put preload sooner or later, there will be more and you can not do anything.GOG.com is owned by CDPR, it's their sister company so yes it's CDPR who'll decide when to enable preload on PC. Well yes but there is no harm in trying to minimize it specially when they offer a DRM free game.If you mean the "piracy" unfortunately there will always be, if they decide to put preload sooner or later, there will be more and you can not do anything.
Although there preload, there are always slowdowns servers (such as Skyrim), then have 12 days to preload for me is ideal.
EDIT: And remember that the Day1 there is a patch of 8 GB to download.
You sure that it is a 8gb download mate? This dutch website:If you mean the "piracy" unfortunately there will always be, if they decide to put preload sooner or later, there will be more and you can not do anything.

But with Steam (i think) it is safer than GOG, so why wait any longer.Well yes but there is no harm in trying to minimize it specially when they offer a DRM free game.
Slowdowns happened on Blizzard servers also so anything can happen
If it's 8 GB patch then I further believe what @sidspyker said that it will come attached with the game and maybe that's what causing the delay.
I'm assuming it's a guess. There's been nothing said about the size of any patch. You sure that it is a 8gb download mate? This dutch website:
Not sure it's 8 GB I have said a number at random, but will be around that number. You sure that it is a 8gb download mate? This dutch website:

Says that the witcher 3 gets a small day 1 patch.
Short to say what is written on that page is that Namco Bandai will have a great month in may when project cars comes out, and that they also distribute TW3 in europe.
Then further down the line it says that TW3 gets a day one patch, but that its not to be compared with the "usual" day one patches, since this day one patch is very small.
Then again further down they say that CDPR states that we even dont need the patch to be sure to have a great game experience, but that CDPR only do this day one patch to make sure the game is as much polished as possible.
In the last alinea, they say that they hope that TW3 is indeed as optimized as that CDPR claims.
But back to that patch.. Are you really sure its 8gb? If that is the case, i think it must be bundled in the download already.. Or at least i hope so.
Hope to hear from you again soon.
Cheers, Mara
