Lol, totally forgot. But i listened to an interview just now. And he said that you might be able to import saves from the PC to other systems. So i guess there's hope.

You can't import the saves. It is not quite officially stated, but there will be very likely some options to "choose" your choices from the last game. Maybe integrated in the prologue where you are telling your story, etc.
That is something that was mentioned quite often.

I think they will implement a interactive short conversation or story where you will be able to choose the paths you would had choosen at TW2. A similar tool was implemented at Mass Effect 2 (stuttle conversation after Cerberus base). But it would be fantastic for fans with games on differents paltaforms, like yourself, to be able to export their saves to TW3

My 2 cents is that the game starts with Geralt talking to the Emperor of Nilfgard who asks you what the hell happened in the north, then you answer with the choices you made.

I think the game will start in Kaer Morhen (The witcher fortress). Mainly because of the game mechanics learning curve

yep I agree and then vesimir or one of the other witchers will ask you some things where you can say if you sided with roche or iowerth (biggest choices)
and if you killed letho or not

Yep, I think it'll be just like that

I wonder how well that can be implemented without breaking the fourth wall too much.
"btw geralt, did you have sex with ves? also, what weapons were on you when you left loc muinne? I'm really interested." :D

and if it's just the really big choices, then it's kind of a big sacrifice just for the sake of doing it in gameplay instead of a questionnaire.

Yeah, that's a issue :D
On Mass Effect 2, you had 3 questions, very short, If I'm not mistaken. Other option is to do a mini-game like Dragon Age Keep or Mass Effect Genesis

I personally doubt the import save feature will be all that high of a priority.

Based the save import feature of TW2 and how little it actually mattered, I don't see TW1/2 having that much of an impact on TW3.

A simple 6 question form would be sufficient to set up the entirety of the previous two games.

Did you side with the elves in TW1?
Did you side with them again in TW2?
Did you kill or spare Letho?
Etc.

And even then, I can't see the previous games having even the slightest effect on TW3 apart from what guards and drunkards mention as you walk by.

Maybe something like that one guard in the Kaedwen camp: "Hey I remeber you, I was a salamandra and you didn't kill me, here I have somthing for you."

Especially the countless political endstates are hard to to deal with it. I think whom you support (Iorweth or Roche) will play a role and maybe if you helped them in prologue or if you helped Triss.

I also hope there will be something like Dragon Age Keep, so that I can generate the decisions I want to have. I'm currently at my 3rd playthrough and I play that parts I haven't seen jet. But I don't have enough time to play again and make the decisions I want to keep.

I really would not like this but it seems likely that they go down this road
What was the point of giving us these big choices of deciding the fates of countries when in the end in doesn't even matter
They are almost worse than Bioware in this regard

They designed each game as its own self contained story arc. So if you only purchased one of them, you would have and see the full impact of your choices play out right in front of you without having to wait for successive installments in the series.

Your choices DID matter, for that game and only that game. This isnt Mass Effect where a choice you made years ago in the first game finally makes an appearance in the final game YEARS after you made it. TW series seems to be all about big choices with big consequences for THAT game and not its sequels. If the only game in the series you play is TW2 and neither the first or last one, you will see the full effect of your choices.

If your'e talking about the thing with Miranda and Jacob in the shuttle, only one of those questions did anything. The reason it was there was because there was a bug in ME1 where the last autosave didn't work properly and they never bothered to fix it, so the import didn't record who you chose for councilor. The other questions were basically there to make it less obvious.

The thing is, they're never gonna give you a starting weapon that doesn't have crappy, starting-level stats. Doesn't matter if that weapon used to be the Ultra Super Mega Infinity Blade of Great Justice + 1. They've got a difficulty curve to maintain.

Ok you've got a good point - how about some cool graphic to the sword if not stats? or a special cutscene and you give it back to the lady of the lake or gift it to a newbie witcher or someone that did you a great favour? Or someone comes to you that is on a quest to kill a beast that can only be killed by this sword and you make them do something for you that helps with your quest? There are lots of ideas you could use that can make this great game even better it's the small details like this that can make memorable moments in gaming otherwise this is just another scrap metal sword like in so many other games.

Quote from the new interview :

PSLS: Will PC gamers still get to import their Witcher 1 and 2 game saves for a customized experience?

MT: Long story short: yes.

does it mean W1 choices matter as well ? Devs pls answer !

As for equipment transfer : on the "Dark" difficulty level (all the real man and true witchers play game play on this difficulty because its the hardest one and still you got ability to save) game was equally hard in the beginning and in the end.W3 has to stay this way,so transferred equipment shouldn't be a problem
