You can't import the saves. It is not quite officially stated, but there will be very likely some options to "choose" your choices from the last game. Maybe integrated in the prologue where you are telling your story, etc.Lol, totally forgot. But i listened to an interview just now. And he said that you might be able to import saves from the PC to other systems. So i guess there's hope.
I think the game will start in Kaer Morhen (The witcher fortress). Mainly because of the game mechanics learning curveMy 2 cents is that the game starts with Geralt talking to the Emperor of Nilfard who asks you what the hell happened in the north, then you answer with the choices you made.
yep I agree and then vesimir or one of the other witchers will ask you some things where you can say if you sided with roche or iowerth (biggest choices)I think the game will start in Kaer Morhen (The witcher fortress). Mainly because of the game mechanics learning curve
Yep, I think it'll be just like thatyep I agree and then vesimir or one of the other witchers will ask you some things where you can say if you sided with roche or iowerth (biggest choices)
and if you killed letho or not
Yeah, that's a issueI wonder how well that can be implemented without breaking the fourth wall too much.
"btw geralt, did you have sex with ves? also, what weapons were on you when you left loc muinne? I'm really interested."
and if it's just the really big choices, then it's kind of a big sacrifice just for the sake of doing it in gameplay instead of a questionnaire.
I really would not like this but it seems likely that they go down this roadI personally doubt the import save feature will be all that high of a priority.
Based the save import feature of TW2 and how little it actually mattered, I don't see TW1/2 having that much of an impact on TW3.
A simple 6 question form would be sufficient to set up the entirety of the previous two games.
Did you side with the elves in TW1?
Did you side with them again in TW2?
Did you kill or spare Letho?
Etc.
And even then, I can't see the previous games having even the slightest effect on TW3 apart from what guards and drunkards mention as you walk by.
They designed each game as its own self contained story arc. So if you only purchased one of them, you would have and see the full impact of your choices play out right in front of you without having to wait for successive installments in the series.I really would not like this but it seems likely that they go down this road
What was the point of giving us these big choices of deciding the fates of countries when in the end in doesn't even matter
They are almost worse than Bioware in this regard
If your'e talking about the thing with Miranda and Jacob in the shuttle, only one of those questions did anything. The reason it was there was because there was a bug in ME1 where the last autosave didn't work properly and they never bothered to fix it, so the import didn't record who you chose for councilor. The other questions were basically there to make it less obvious.Yeah, that's a issue
On Mass Effect 2, you had 3 questions, very short, If I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, I know.If your'e talking about the thing with Miranda and Jacob in the shuttle, only one of those questions did anything. Ok you've got a good point - how about some cool graphic to the sword if not stats? or a special cutscene and you give it back to the lady of the lake or gift it to a newbie witcher or someone that did you a great favour? Or someone comes to you that is on a quest to kill a beast that can only be killed by this sword and you make them do something for you that helps with your quest? There are lots of ideas you could use that can make this great game even better it's the small details like this that can make memorable moments in gaming otherwise this is just another scrap metal sword like in so many other games. The thing is, they're never gonna give you a starting weapon that doesn't have crappy, starting-level stats. Doesn't matter if that weapon used to be the Ultra Super Mega Infinity Blade of Great Justice + 1. They've got a difficulty curve to maintain.
does it mean W1 choices matter as well ? Devs pls answer !PSLS: Will PC gamers still get to import their Witcher 1 and 2 game saves for a customized experience?
MT: Long story short: yes.
