Now this was - how shall I put it? -

Terse.

I do have to question the PR logic behind showing a 4 second trailer after some 4 minutes of leaked footage have been around for a while and after a 40 minute demo was shown to journalists a semester ago.

4 seconds vs 4 minutes vs 40 minutes.

As for the rest, I'm confident CDprojekt will be able to escape the gravitational pull of the cliché.

I don't think it'll be a save the world plot. At least not from the Hunt. At best the Wild Hunt will be a threat to Geralt's loved ones and himself. anyone who is unfortunate enough to find themselves in the path of the Wild Hunt. If Geralt returned from the Wild Hunt he was always a spectral rider like one of them, which explains the King's speech to him at the End of the Witcher 1. Death follows him wherever he goes, bringing death to many around himself, as penance for surrendering his soul to the Wild Hunt. They'll continue being a direct threat to his friends until he surrenders himself back.

Seems like a logical plot twist to me.

Well that applies for me too, I wouldn't like it that Geralt plays the superhero to save the World from the menace of the Wraiths..

But now that you mentioned it I recall it that CDPR has stated that The Wild Hunt is much more dangerous than the people think, more dangerous than Nilfgaard, for that I too will be dissapointed if it turns out to be something that everyone unites to beat the Wraiths and Geralt is their Champion..

What did the king of the wild hunt say?

"You cannot defy the call of the Nas deal?"
Probably something Elven.

I doubt that will happen, that doesn't sound Witcher-like at all.

Oh the whine... Trailer was short, but amazing. My jaw drops when I saw how great graphics looks. And that city. You guys still complaining about Novigrad?

Errrr I don't remember that.

I understand that Ciri is very important and that the Wild hunt acquiring her would cause a threat to the world. So I am totally fine if the story will be about Geralt helping Ciri kick Wild Hunt ass and thus prevent an invasion from ever occurring.

It depends on how it is presented, but I am not a fan of any 'save the world' plots (even though some of them are pretty good). Also, Geralt is not some frigging champion of mankind, I do not want even a hint of Commander Geralt.

No, they think Novigrad is great.

They're complaining about his face again.

It looks too damn good to be true.. it must have one huge flaw, it can be no other way :D
The fastest improving game there probably is for me. Every time I compare the Witcher 1 with 2, and now the second with the third (from what I've seen at least) my mind is blown away

Yeah, it kind of suck. It was perfect in TW2, no need to change it, you know.

I'd strongly disagree, Witcher 2 doesn't have really good facial animations.

His face is the same that we saw in previous trailers, he's just got the beard and it's more expressive.

Well ... stayed up to 5 am for the 30 sec trailer ... still was awesome.

But yeah, if CDPR goes for the "Fight the Wild Hunt and your friends will die, but help your friends but the Wild Hunt will find Ciri and invade the world" story .... It will be a bit disappointing :p

Still ... what an improvement in 6 months .... Stoked as hell :)

You're whining about the whining.

OK then.

Regrading Novigrad, let me get back to you after I've re-watched it in full HD glory.

@Costin No, it looked a bit... weird, can't put my finger on it though. Nothing to do with the beard.

The shading on his face seems different from earlier is all IMO.

its great that they showed the exact same scene from the previous trailer but with the newer graphics, it makes the old one look much worse, i cant even imagine how good the game will look on release.

Also can we say fur is confirmed on clothes at least?
