TW3 - Ukrainian Trailers

Hello folks!

With the help of CDPR we were able to dub The Witcher 3 trailers into Ukrainian. Sounds good, huh?

I'm currently studying Russian, shouldn't be much difference between Russian and Ukrainian right ?

You'll hear a few familiar words, yes. But they are not identical languages.

Depends on how good your Russian is. I'm a native Russian speaker and I can understand something like from 70 to 90% of Ukrainian depending on the topic. Did you understand these trailers?

Nope
it's been 10 days since I started learning Russian. my ears could only detect some pronouns. I have a long way ahead. :)
I've heard some complains about Russian grammar being difficult, but I believe it's worth it. your language is beautiful.

It's not a hard language if you know Russian. ;)
Feel the difference.

(In Russia "Гон" sounds like "Bullshit" (The Witcher 3: Wild Bullshit) , so it was changed to "Охота")

I've heard about the manifestations in Ukraine, I hope you'll get that sorted out. EU is excited to work with you.

Thank you! Ukraine is at a breaking point. But when it comes to gaming, our problem is Russia. For too long we've been under their influence and therefore the rest of the world treats us as them. Up until recently, there were no Ukrainian game localisations, can you believe this? Why spend money making a loca if Ukrainians will understand Russian just the same? So the website that made these trailers is trying to change this. We made an official localisation for Baldur's Gate that was included in Steam. We are about to add our loca to Bastion and almost completed voicing Metro: Last Light into Ukrainian. It's a beautiful language indeed. I wish we had more games localized for us.

And so this doesn't turn into offtopic, here's another Witcher vid in Ukrainian (it's an extended review of TW1):

Uh-huh, Russia is pure evil, as always...
Nice voice acting by the way, especially King of the Wild Hunt sounds very badass. Even better than original.

barely any difference. about 70% of words are same or similar. The rest you can figure out from the context of a sentence.

On a side note, arghhh... there is going to be so much pirating from Eastern Europe and Russia when this game comes out...

Yes, there is still bunch of jerks, who pirating such a great games like The Witcher.
But in case with TW3, I see many people just ready to support CDPR and massivelly downvote everyone who start talks about torrents.
I myself buy every game, The Witcher 2 even twice.

Хлопці, це шедеврально. Скільки вам треба грошей, щоб зробити повну українську локалізацію? Спільнота KaerMorhen.ru (котра доречі створена та очолена двома українцями) готова вам допомогти.

[EN] Guys, this is amazing. How much money you need to make full Ukrainian localization? KaerMorhen.ru community (which is created and headed by two Ukrainians by the way) is ready to help you.

Thanks :) Make sure to subscribe and share. In order for Ukrainian localizations to become reality, there must first be a large enough Ukrainian gaming community for the publishers to pfofit from it. So join up and we'll think of something.
