TWEE DVD Bug???

Hi All, Was wondering if anyone had any ideas on this bug. I have XP Home SP3 fully updated in everything that I know of, have a 3GHz Pent 4 with 2.5 GB of Ram. The bug I'm having is when I put my disc in to play some times it will tell me I have to put the disc in. I eject the disc log off and try again and this time it starts normally. I have only noticed this when I play my retail TWEE. I am playing it so I suppose it is no big deal but I was just wondering if someone could tell me what might be going on. Sincerely, Robert ???

Have you examined your disk for scratches and/or dirt?Does your DVD drive do this with any other disks? The last time I had this kind of problem with a disk, the drive was failing. If you download and install Patch 1.5, you won't need to have the disk in the drive to play. This is just a convenience for most of us, but it sounds as if it might be especially useful in your case.

Hi Corylea. Thanks for your reply. I have checked my disc and it is pretty well free of scratches. There may be some minor ones, approx 2 that may be the cause, but they aren't deep. However I guess they don't have to be to cause a problem. And it has been only with this disc that I notice this problem. And as I said I am playing the game so it's no big problem. As for the update I have tried this but for some reason I can't get it to work. When I click the link it shows the link page as done but there is nothing there??? I guess I could use one of the mirrors but I would rather get it from the original site if i could. I even tried from TW home page where it shows the 3 steps but it won't even work from there. I think I'll finish my first run through seeing how I'm on the 4th chapter and I'll do a fresh install and update the stuff, don't want the game I'm on now to get messed up. So thanks again for your reply, and if you have any insight as to the update problem I would greatly appreciate your input. Sincerely, Robert P.S. If it is important I'm from Canada as is my retail DVD. :peace:
