TWEE on Win7: not enough privileges

Hi everyone,

I'm pretty sure this issue has already been discussed here, but after serveral hours looking through the forum I didn't find any answer that helped me to solve this problem.

I bought a PCDVD version of The Witcher Enhanced Edition from Atari and installed on a PC running Windows 7 Home Premium Edition with 4 gigas of RAM, an Intel i3-370M chip and an ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 with 2 Gigas of RAM.

Installation did not give me any issue, but when I tried to register my copy a pop-up window appeared saying there was not internet connection. Reading the forum I undertood that registration is not needed any longer. I also tried to look for any update for the game, but clicking on the option takes me to an unexisting place..

I tried to run the game, but a pop-up window tells that I don't have enough privileges. This keeps happening even when I run the shortcut as an administrator.

Can anyone help me, please? Thank you in advance!

OK . First navigate to wherever you installed The Witcher and open the Witcher/System folder then hover your mouse over the witcher exe and a popup box will appear showing the version number . If it`s anything less than 1.5.0.1304 then you`ll need to update to the 1.5 patch found here http://thewitcher.com/en/witcher1 and click the updates tab and download and install the 1.5 patch . After that`s done then follow this link http://www.tagesprotection.com/main.htm?page=minimum.htm and click on the 5.5 at the bottom of the page to update the Tages drivers that are relevant for your system and then follow the prompts to remove the Tages drivers . Then try launching the game .

Also if you have your cd-key handy you can also claim a backup copy from GOG (CD projekt Red sister company) with all patches already installed https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup
