Two pages from the upcoming The Witcher comic book!

Today we unveil two pages of the greatly awaited comic book about "The Witcher". As many of you probably already know, Przemek "Trust" Truściński and Maciej Parowski are the ones responsible for its creation, with the former being the conceptual artist for Geralt, and the latter being responsible for adapting Sapkowski's literary works to comic book style script. The pages we're showing you today are a fragment from an album showing events from the first novel of the Witcher saga: "The Last Wish".The comic strips presented to you today are only black and white sketches. The final version of the comic book will be in colour. As we always appreciate and value your comments, fire away!Page 1Page 2

aaahh... looks nice though it's b/w :) The drawings promise not be that kind of "bubble gum" style comix ^^The only persons I recognize are Geralt and his friend the bard... who is Rittersporn in German. btwpage2 doesn't work, it's page 1 once again, take this one http://www.thewitcher.com/resources/upload/comic/Comic_2_en.jpg ;D

Cool! I like that style. I hope the comic is going to be in the Collector's Edition (or easily to get for me). :)

very nice work. old school and classic. but i don't like the panel placement that much, it's too conservative.3/2 - 1/2/2, hope this get more loose during the comic and more daring scenes/perspectives are shown.well, I somehow feel shabby for critisizing since I never could draw that good.

Don't you get the feeling sometimes that you just don't want to share a certain book or idea with the world? Once you read a book or something you just don't want the publisher to print more books or to go ahead and make stuff that relates to that universe. Releasing a comic book like this...

I know what you're getting at, Alibi, but a comic book like this is intended to generate hype about the topic and thus the game. And hype means interest, and interest hopefully means support in the form of bought games.

Anyone know whether the comic book will be available in languages other than Polish? I'd like to read it without the heavy help of a dictionary :)

I think... correct me if I'm wrong... there was already a Witcher comic sequel out before (somewhat in the 90ies) the game The Witcher. So the comic book(s) will not be released cos there is the game The Witcher... unless there will be a new sequel. Anyway, the idea is at least not new.The language... will, I guess it will be at least English besides Polish. It wouldn't make sense to announce the comix on the English HP when it's only in Polish ;D

yes 8)

All the drawings are being created by Przemek “Trust” Truscinski, leading Polish comic book artist who designed a graphical concept for the main character in The Witcher game. Comic books will be visually coherent with the game developed by CD Projekt RED. More details soon at www.thewitcher.com.Since CD Projekt is owner of the rights to the old comic books of The Witcher (1993 – 1995; Bogusław Polch/Maciej Parowski/Andrzej Sapkowski) those volumes will also be released this year in a new enhanced and corrected version.

[/QUOTE]There's lot to correct, I assure you :]. In a nutshell, comic books by Polch/Parowski were in some parts not too coherent with the original Sapkowski's books...

have a look at Petra's post below the 1st to see the 2nd page.Nice, anyway. Like the drawing style with lots of contrasts.

Yup – Trust is well known in Poland for its distinctive style. It will definitely not be a Spiderman :p
