Two questions regarding Attack Power bonuses

I'm not quite sure if those are bugs, intentional or if I'm getting something wrong. I did search the forums but it's a bit difficult to sift though all the mega threads. So my apologies if these questions have been posted already.

Anyway, I've been calculating a bit and stumbled upon two things:

1. It seems that Cat School Technique gives 20% AP just by being active and another 5% for each light armor piece. Is that intentional?

2. Am I right in assuming that runestones do not affect the shown weapon/damage stats (but hopefully are applied in the actual damage calculations)? Cause after all my calculations I equipped a 5% AP runestone, expecting to see a certain rise in damage and DPS (in the UI, not in gameplay), but nothing happened.

And while we're at it - a "bonus" question. Am I also right in assuming that each level of Geralt provides another 0.5% AP?

1) Can't say.

2) For the chernobog runestones to work you need to draw the sword they're apllied to.

Sure, makes sense in combat, but the steel sword DPS (and damage player stats) in the inventory are specifically for the currently equipped steel sword and should, in my opinion, reflect temporary buffs like runestones the same way it does permanent stats (like crit chance and crit damage bonus) which do get taken into account.

Unfortunately I'm not quite sure how to check if the runestone AP buffs are actually applied in combat...

Note your dps before drawing your sword with (a) chernobog runestone(s), then do the same after drawing yours sword. You should see the DPS raise for both your swords. As I said before, you don't see any change in stats until your sword is out of its scabbard.

Ah, misunderstood you the first time around it seems. You meant actually entering the inventory while having the sword in question out to see the correct stats?

Exactly, sorry if it came out confusing earlier.

Kids on this forum were saying the +5% AP runes were bugged entirely. I stopped using them all-together when I read that. I use burning exclusively on both my weapons.
