So,by reading one of gamespot's interview,this is how the quests will look like IMO:
-Main quests:As it was discussed in another thread,there are 8-10 of them,probably very long.+The Ciri quests which will take 5-10 hours to complete iirc
-Main "side quests"/Secondary quests:They revolbe around important main story characters and they will heavily affect the end world state.In other words,i believe that the main story will lead to 3 endings,and these side quests will lead to the 36 ending states.There are 2-3 for each main quest and you have to progress until some point to continue the main quests.In other words,you may or may not complete them,but you have to do something.Finally,i assume that some characters like Yen,Triss,Zoltan and Dandellion will be involved in this,apart from the main story
-Big side quests:This will basically feel likethe previous category,because it will involve many "missions" to complete them and they will have their own storyline.However,they won't affect the world in a big manner.One example may be the Gwent tournament.
-Small side quests:This will be the traditionary side quests,which will probably have a small story.They can be given by quest-givers,they may be contracts on the notice board,or they may naturally be found during exploration

I am a bit overwhelmed
So,i have one question for you all:
The devs said that the main quest will take 50 hours to complete.But what did they mean?
A)50 hours=8-10 main quests+Ciri+mandatory parts of the main side quests
B)50 hours=8-10 main quests+Ciri+the whole main side quests

The best answer ought come from a CDPR dev.
All other one will be mere speculations til the game be released.

By "main quest" my assumption would be that its just the things that are mandatory. I think that is def the expectation people will have.

Just a little clarification on this one, since this number was thrown around and misinterpreted a lot - by saying "storylines" I didn't mean single "quests", I meant lines of quests - by "line of quests" I understand a number of quests which you have to complete, in order to finish one specific storyline. You will encounter a number of them when going through main story, not all of them have to be finished.

So, in short - it's not true that we have 8-10 main quests in game.

This is why people (edit: by people, I mean developers, in this case) are afraid to say anything these days. Because everyone will pick it apart and scrutinize over it, taking everything as literal.

I find it quite annoying tbh. But, people needs dem stats, I guess.

Personally, I want to find out how many quests there are by playing the game. Knowing in advance kinda ruins it. Keep it secret CDPR, keep it safe
