Ultimate Lighting Mod - Preview -

//Compatible with other lighting mods
//Compatible with Extreme Weather Conditions

choose from 118 environment definitions!

(some are messy, some are great, others you already know as CSLM, YALM, STLM etc.)

change them on the fly, using the options menu! :O

also change custom envBlend, envPriority settings LIVE while in the game!

Newest Release 1.13:

http://www90.zippyshare.com/v/yYLOMYhL/file.html

keep in mind, while technically working perfectly, i think this is the cheapest way of implementing it right now (pressing a key etc.) this might become more convenient in the future once I figure out how to automatically reload settings after you leave the main menu. (If it even works).

Changelog:

v1.13

Witcher 3 Patch 1.11 compatibility fixes

v1.12:

- moved ULM Menu Panel to new subdived Menu called: Mods to accompany with other mods like: AMM, RandomEncounters etc.
- added Colorizer Menu Panel (entirely optional) to "tint" the base color that is used

v1.11:

- adds 43 new .env's (environment Definitions) from the Hearts of Stone DLC Expansion, now 161 Environment Definitions in total!

v1.10:

- fixed compatibility issues with Witcher 3 Patch 1.10

v1.06:

- added Turbo Mode, if enabled let's you customize the distance fog density, you can completely remove the fog, I recommend leaving it at atleast: 0.10
- added Full Screen Blur option

v1.05:

- added 2 Keybindings to cycle through all Environment Definitions. Default: Numpad Minus = Previous Definition, Numpad Plus = Next Definition
- can be customized in the Options - Key Bindings menu (make sure you reset to Default bindings first, has to be done once)
(thanks to vesemas228)
- added numbers to each environment definition in the options menu for clarity
(thanks to (Mezziaz)
- ULM will now load last selected environment definition automatically on spawn

also, pressing F4 will always reload the last selected env you selected if you cycled through the options with numpad + / -
and using the cycle keys will also show you the last activated env

TurboMode:

Custom Menu:

Cutom Key Binding:

Features:
- custom options menu
- choose from 118 Environment Definitions (CSLM, YALM etc. are all included in this mod!)
- set custom envBlend, envPriority Values
- all on-the-fly, while in the game
- custom key to reload settings everytime you want to

Ok,

forget about YALM and forget about CSLM etc.

this is the real deal. :O

the ALL-IN-ONE deal.

choose from over 50 environment definitions! (some are messy, some are great, others you already know as CSLM, YALM, STLM etc.)

change them on the fly, using the options menu! :O

What, for real?

Yes!

also change custom envBlend, envPriority settings LIVE while in the gaem!

I personally just like the one's with the ultra-high Depth of Field (like the third one in the video) the most.

I think Velen looks really good in that swap lighting. The default Velen sunny and rainy weather is a bit lackluster and boring and I guess mostly it is because the colors in them look dull to me.

Outstanding sir, truly outstanding. And to think what you could do with full modding tools. Now I see why CDPR wont release it, you would make the Universe implode :p

How does it handle transitions to new areas?

Does it include the Swamp Lighting mod?

Does the weather behave normally? Can we use Extreme weather alongside this?

Very impressing!

I have two questions:
1.) I guess this mod makes lightning global. Is there any possibility to add option to make different lightning presets to different locations(Novigrad, Velen, Indoors...)?
2.)What about cutscenes? Does it change lightning between world and cutscenes or forces one to both?

Wow, excellent, this looks great!!!

If i could chime a suggestion, any chance we could set a custom keybind to cycle through the environment definitions without having to go through the menu?

I can see this mod as a screenshotters dream, but me personally i want to try all the environment files myself (havent had access to this so far) and see if there any better ones just for my preset.

Thanks!! Brilliant!!

Being able to adjust lighting to preferences from in game menu sounds just amazing. I was always annoyed with this "everything is orange" lighting that is used in very most part of a game. This is mostly what causes this general oversaturation, the lighting, not color palette. Color palette is minor problem, easy to fix with Reshade presetw without any side effects, but lighting cannot be fixed this way. And now there will be possibility to change lighting anytime from game menu, without any strange bugs and other problems caused by custom lighting mods that makes game look strange and plastic anyway. Like you said, this one is real deal. I hope you won't encounter any serious bugs and problems on the way to release. Thanks in advance

1. Right now you press a button (for example F3) to reload the settings you made in the menu, so you can load / change it whenever you want to.
2. Yes, it does. Swamp Lighting mod is just another .env file.
3. Weather never behaves normally, because Weather Behaviour is defined within the .env, meaning different .env = different looking weather, since lighting is changed etc.

4. Yes it will be compatible with Extreme Weather, also compatible with other Lighting Mods. Why? Because this, like all other Lighting Mods "layers" over the existing .env file loaded by the game.

How to explain this the easiest way:

If you go into the swamp in Velen, the game, by default, loads a .env file made for the swamp to adjust lighting, wind, fog, all sorts of things (In Winter it even changes tree colors etc.)

The .env loaded has a Priority Value (determines the priority of which is the .env file loaded is layered over the default one)

So, in the swamp, if you load a custom .env file and you only have a priority of 100, the custom .env file won't layer over the swamp .env, since by default it has a higher priority.

the envBlend value is used how much the custom .env file is layering into the default one, basically the strength of which the custom .env file is loaded.

So CSLM, YALM, STLM etc they all use one single .env file to change the lighting. If you load CSLM or YALM or STLM the game will change the global lighting to the .env used by these mods. If you in addition use ULM and let's say choose an .env that has a high DoF value but only set envBlend Value to 0.5 instead of 1.0 then it will basically "mix" with the default .env (CSLM etc.) and so on.

Are there any plans to make it to switch automatically for different zones?

why? that's how it works by default.

F3 is just a fail safe button that, if the custom .env get's overrided by a default .env (e.g. Heavy Rain etc.) you just press a button and it's reloaded.

I never knew what priority and envblend meant until now. Thanks for the explanation.

Mmmmh, this reminds me of Killing Monsters.

View attachment 25147

By the way, if we can melt mist_fog and herbalist_mordor, it'll bring back the Killing Monsters cinematic.

Impressive mod.
While all this stuff is cool'n'dandy, after lot of trying different lightings etc, I start to like original lighting more. I wish someone can make mod, that only forces global light in cutscenes. Don't know is it even possible.

There is small problem with mod. After uninstalling I have error message about localization file instead of critical hit text during gameplay. But that's my bad, should backup before replaced that file.
