Unable to play (error 0xc0000142)

..... This game is, no I'll qualify that statement, What a piece of S**t the programming of this game is, the game is good and fun to play, but for a time now Ive been unable to play due to error 142, and nobody seems to know what it is, again Ill qualify, everybody knows what it is and are all spouting their own reasons and fixes, but its different for every one.

Ive done everything I can think of including complete wipes and reinstall, Ive got 2 machines, one a top of the range sabre tooth board, 32 gb mem, I7 multi core and windows 7, wont run and a crappy HP I5 laptop with windows 8, wont run.

I certainly wont buy anymore of this companies software, Ive invested to much time and energy into this game to be bothered anymore.

First of all i dont think its the game who is shitty here.
Secondly,you could just ask here a not start insulting a game that works for everyone else...

But I recommend editing your post to reflect which game you're having a problem with, and also a dx diag might be helpful.

Sorry I fail to see the insult, and Im not looking for help Im past all that, there are many more games out there, and indeed I have them, that run perfectly without error messages, Im just trying to warn potential buyers of the pitfalls of this game.

Thanks, Ill try it in safe mode Ive got .Net framework 4.5 installed, no other search engine apart from Google,

Tried it in safe mode, tried uninstalling net framework still doesn't work.

Contrary to your claim "nobody seems to know what [error 142] is", it is in fact very well known, and all of the known causes have been listed carefully and in detail by people who care about the game and care about assisting players who encounter this error.
