Unable To Play The Witcher 2 EE PC

I recently updated to the Enhanced Edition of the Witcher 2 and now am unable to play the game. The Launcher opens fine, but they after I click "Launch Game" the witcher medallion appears but the game never actually launches. I've uninstalled and re-installed three times and am still having the same issue. Any one have any ideas or a fix for this?

Have you cleaned out any mods you might have used and tried to start the game without the launcher (../The Witcher 2/bin/witcher2.exe)?
Oh, and I heard that part 2 of the update files might be corrupted, you can download it manually here and replace the original one with it.

That's the answer to the first suggestion, right?
Did you also try to start the game without the launcher?
Did you also try to replace the file I told you about?

Yes that was the answer to the first question. I did try to launch the game from the executable and it did nothing. I'm working on untinstalling it with Revo to get rid of all of the registry entries and then I am going to update with your recommendation.

Same issue for me.
@Delightful: can't follow your suggestion as I'm using Steam version.
@Geddy: BTW, what version of Windows are you using?

I am also unable to play once updating on the PC. Game crashes every time and does not get past the new intro. Turns into a black screen before getting to the menu screen. Its a fresh install with no mods. Using Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit edition.

If you use Steam do this: Verify Integrity of Game Cache

Already done. Even performed a complete reinstall from Steam. No success.

Same deal here. I can launch the game, watch the new intro, get to the new game menu. Once I select new game and it's starts to load it ctd instantly. No error codes, no black screen. game and launcher just instantly close. No solutions have worked for me either. I've tried them all. I was stoked to install and play this again with the enhanced content but damn if this is frustrating as all get out.

I have exactly the same problem. I installed the EE patch multiple times without problems now, deinstalled and reinstalled .Net Framework 4.0, but the game won't launch.
The wolf medallion stays without anything loading and if I run the witcher2.exe in the bin directory nothing happens either. There is no error message or error log and I didn't had a problem running Witcher 2 when it was released.

What can I do?

My problem is similar but slightly different. I purchased the retail version of the EE. I installed it. The launcher opens. Click play. Medallion appears. Then all my monitors go black or white and the computer freezes. No commands work and I have to reset/reboot. Tried turning off the other monitors and tried to launch individually on each monitor, they go either black or white. Tried lowering graphics settings to min, changing resolution, nothing works. I did not install to the default directory because that puts it on my ssd which I don't use for anything but windows and core programs. If I put it on the ssd there won't be enough space left for my cache so its not an option. I have a 2 tb storage drive that its installed too...

I've had the same problem and I bought the game 7/14/12. I even let the medallion stay for an hour before having to terminate the launcher with task manager. I have yet to see any answer as to what might be happening. I've posted all the steps I've done so far in this thread, "Launcher not working". If anybody has come up with a work around or fix I would appreciate hearing from you. I've put my system specs in my post as well. Thanks.
