If CD projekt Red actually cared about the player base and had any sense of how the community is feeling they would be remiss not to respond accordingly. Money isn't the only thing you earn in the video game industry And though they made quite a bit of money They lost much of their reputation. We have told them how to earn our trust again. Gabe Newell even said to listen to the fan base. If you're in the gaming industry and Gabe Newell gives you advice you take it if you're smart.

Yeah, he has said that but he also said:

Newell said he had played through the most anticipated and hyped game of 2020 — CD Projekt Red's Cyberpunk 2077 — on PC, and that the performance issues the game experienced on console versions were something many game developers grapple with.

"All I know is that there are a lot of very happy gamers in the PC space, which are the ones that are most visible to us.
"There are aspects of the game that are just brilliant, and it shows a tremendous amount of work — it's unfair to throw stones at any other developer, because just getting something as complex and ambitious as that out the door is pretty amazing."

And then there's what is fan base. A lot of things suggested are irrelevant to me for example. While fixing perks that aren't working is something I consider important.

There's a lot wrong with this game and everyone has an opinion about what that means. I personally got hyped about character creation which is a huge disappointment. But even if I'm not mad about say optical camouflage missing (which I am) that doesn't mean other people aren't in the right to be upset. And at the end of the day I agree that lord Gaben's words are up for interpretation the community voice is not. Bugs, missing/broken features, cut content. With 90% of the fun base upset about at least one of these things the path to redemption is clear. CDPR has made a name for them self's by honoring and caring for it's games and the people that play them. I sincerely believe given time we'll get the game we paid for because of that fact. It's just a matter of time I believe

This is all well and good but it doesn't seem they have much presence here in the forums, which is the prefect place if they want suggestions and solid communication with their fans.
I think they prefer twitter.

And the deception was completely on the marketing/management side of things as I see it. Not only did the marketing try to bring every kind of player to this game, it set the goals for the developers and time to do such requests. If they marketed this game for rpg/deus ex/table top players only, it would be honest. They tried to bring rockstar fans as well, even said it would be as polished as dead redemption. The marketing for the open world aspects was just delusional with the time given for the developers to create.
And it feels in this sense it gave a time bomb to the developers. A lot of the 2018 demo was in the game but it's like that was the goal set back there, now deliver it before next gen consoles come out (I believe that was the margin, more than christmas; there's christmas next year also).

Edit - sorry I made a confusion. Thought I was replying on another thread I'm also following. I also believe this more positive thread/looking into the future is very important. Didn't want to bring the past in here. And speaking about what I said above, I also do love this game, as I am a "deus-ex type" fan and open world "rockstar" fan.

CDPR has fueled our illusion for great rpg work in a cyberpunk 2077 universe for 8 years !!! now CDPR has to respect and understand that we can spend 8 years, if necessary, demanding that they develop what they promised. Right now they have only been working on this game for 4 years and we accept the apologies because we respect the developers, but the evolution of the game must take place and continue until the end, because much of its sales success is in the promises and hoaxes not compliments

There's that not everybody followed the marketing. I haven't followed gaming media for years and was surprised that I got a game I wanted.

For what I have gathered discussion about what was promised appears to be moving target. Say tube, if it's a sewer it can take you to many places but if it's a train or plane, it will go from point A to B and you are essentially in cave which has exists blocked before arriving to B. There are people who see something awesome there, but there's also us who feel that nothing relevant to our experience was lost, if that ever even was a thing but flavor for game world.

What comes to reputation. I don't really care who makes what. I do avoid products from EA and lately from Ubisoft but that's nothing to do with any sort of morale, they just are unappealing to me. I did avoid CDPR products after the Witcher 2 that I played like 6 hours. Not because I had negative feelings toward studio, but because product clearly wasn't for me and I never been big to swords to begin with. So you say 90% of fan base, but what I see is few peoples posting a lot. Game sold 13 million.

I have seen some great suggestions for UI I have tried to express my support. Fixing perks I mentioned already, then there are certain things in game balance, but that can't be taken care before perks work, then there's better grounds for discussing additional features and such.

And thus they will become just as EA and Ubisoft.

The behavior was rewarded, encouraged, and will not stop.

It's over the delusion they are the good guy company, or that Profits doesn't Trump everything else is gone.

It's a Fuck you Got mine Company and Industry.
How EA came to be what they are with their bland titles is because they try to avoid risks. I remember ME3 being promoted as battle for the Earth then we fought 70% of game human faction Cerberus, Earth was one level which really wasn't anything to write home about. Ending was sort of icing the cake LOL.

Writers who can't write, animators who can't animate but they sure are good at cutting corners, very safe yet very bland. Cyberpunk 2077 is very different from what EA does, it took one hell of a gamble and it won some, it lost some but won more than it lost.

Ubisoft then I guess has internal policy regarding their games to include certain things. They have their audience and I think as consumer it's handy that you know what is what. Again Cyberpunk 2077 has nothing to do with that. Playing practical merc without getting involved with looting and crafting stuff is perfectly valid playstyle, I did that.

I don't know if I believe in brand loyalty to that much. CDPR does what it does. For story driven single player games, if they leave that position, someone will take that spot in the market.

Why are these discussion turning to be so much about some sort of morale?

They may include trains and busses but in the end if they are crap, what was achieved there?
Monowire hacking was way worse than what we got, why in the world would anybody want that changed?
Why would citizens of the Night City behave like community of 12 people hundreds of years ago?

I don't believe all feedback easily perceived as negative actually is even that in the big picture.

I don't know, regarding scope improving the product, I posted this yesterday and I sort of wasn't surprised that there weren't any replies. I don't know I think something like that could be within scope to realistically pan out.

I agree That the bugs and broken/missing features come first But missing content is still a problem. As I've stated before the character creation It's practically unrecognizable from its description before launch There are many other aspects of this game that are similarly promises broken. For those of us who followed it since 2012 the game is just not what was advertised. When you have the option to change the size of your breasts and penis But have no representation of your choice in game and similarly When bosses and enemies can turn invisible and vendors recommended that you buy from them invisibility with invisibility not accessible to the player it's hard to ignore cut content as an issue. That being said it's definitely not the first thing they should fix and I'm not Implying that by any means. I'm simply saying that like any other situation of false advertising The company should be held liable. Which is why the Polish government had gotten involved so good stuff.

The two words we routinely hear in gaming that make us cringe is "Live Service". But this game I believe needs updates quickly like some live service games. If you fix the bugs, add content that was announced and not put in the game, maybe add new weapon/clothing drops or even new areas in NC to interact with.. Casino, Strip Club, whatever.

If CDPR can roll out steady and stable bug fixes, grow the current NC before worrying about DLC then not only will you win back fans, you may gain new ones as well by showing that you truly care about the gamer and their experience.

Lets be honest, do we really want to see a full blown DLC when they had so many problems with the base game? Even if it came out polished, you still have to get through the crap before getting to the good stuff.

Even if this game didnt have bugs you'd play through it being even way more confused like put V story aside being already a confused mess, whos jenkins why all these people wearing the same rings, why sandra dorsett tried to collect prof of a secret operation connected to a rogue AI? we literally see a dude killing himself in the beginning of the game and people thought it was a bug but no story related , whos mr blue eyes, why some valentinos are hired to hit arasaka headquarters wearing militec gear behind padre's back there is some big lore going down and you just stratch the surface IMO this game needs waaaaaaaay more dlc's than they intend to plan there is a huge block of story missing from this game and ive thrown some examples the list is way longer and ofc we gotta need missing feature stuff you find on mods because at the end of the day Pc can't be the only solution for this game with mods console gonna be there staring at us for enjoying mods

We've all seen EA.

It's never been about playing it safe, it's been about easy money. Sim City Launched Similar to this, and regardless in both cases of features that didn't make it in the game. The games literally do work function properly. In every regard the systems that did not work in Sim City, the game still "looked Pretty" and would seem to function somewhat to the outside eye. However one you get your hands in the game and try to play it, It's clear the systems down work.

Clothing Mods: Don't stack, or some case they do, and you can cheese insane armor by slowly tiering up each sloth with armadillos of each quality in a specific order. (Similar to Alchemy->Enchanting->Smithing issue in Skyrim, except this isn't due some insane scaling but a massively broke mod system.)

AI pathing and spawning broke (Still have mobs spawning inside walls) AI getting stuck on escort missions

Random "Body Detected" even though there are no bodies, or other random stealth breaks

Hacks Randomly showing they are doing damage but enemies not taking damage

35 Perks not working

More perks bugged/overworking

The Evasion stat not working at all.

The block proc not working at all.

This is an EA type of Release. Just like Sim City, It will never be fixed. Hell they released an expansion yet The Spiffing Britt does the same "Exploit" to infinite growth (It's just the game literally doesn't work mechanically.)

Hell there isn't even a faction system for enemies, Cops will engage you in majority of cases just because gang members are engaged, and they don't engage the gang members cept in scripted events. Gangs don't fight each other and are all on the same network. (2 side missions with opposing gangs fighting for turf in the mission if one groups spots you in specific area of their respective zone the other quest's Rival Gang member and full networked with them and will start hacking you through their enemies LOS, and only fight you.)

Talk it up all you want, They went to bank with a broke game. Just like EA did with Sim City. Their marketing (even though it wasn't for the final product for either) in both cases was deceptive and not remotely of what the final product is. Hell CDPR still has these Marketing videos out there with these features being advertised still, with 0 annotation that they were removed. If they were 1/10th of what you are making them out to be they would of at least noted this material is no longer in the game or removed these videos with these non-existent systems/features.

I believe it's likely the missing content will become free DLCs.

I had to look up what version of SimCity you were referring and it looks like to be 2013 one. Well, in 2013 EA released more games than CDPR in its entire history and most of those games weren't SimCity.

You keep ranting about bugs we all know about, you keep ranting about cut content, your rant nothing to do with my reply to you. Not everyone gives a damn what was cut. I linked to what sort of content I find interesting and it has nothing to do with cut content.

Every conversation must be your soap box. So you are not really discussing with anyone, you just want to keep ranting. But lunatic on a soap box, is still just a lunatic.

No I did address it.

I addressed, the bugs which are not even being touched. (Majority of the fixes have been focused solely at the last gen hardware) The rant wasn't about what was cut, It was that they are still using it for advertising the product. I'm fine with it being cut, Stop advertising it although. Either pull the ads or make annotations.

Extra content doesn't fix the game if it mechanically does not work. While there is content and no-one is opposed to additional story content except budget fiduciaries, The game needs to be able to function.

Sim City was used as the EA example, as they released content in the vein you are referring to but never fixed the core system of the game. It may be pretty but if it doesn't work, it doesn't work and it is an illusion.

Yeah, well it was what I posted earlier.

Still, I'm not going to have same debate with every person, try reading the topics you post.

And I pointed out that it was one game in their product line. Heck, SimCity 2013 appears to be even a bit of innovative in a way they tried to screw their customers over, but what comes to game mechanics and stuff, it looked like rehashing the same old same old.

I finished Cyberpunk 2077 with 170 hours, spend about 30 more hours in it. Did 3 different endings, had great time in end game battles even some perks didn't work with game version from day 1 to 1.06.

And this cut content, why didn't you answer my question about monowire for example? What we got is way better than what they had in previews, why the heck I would want worse version back? Why would anyone?

One reason would be Lore Reason, but I am not versed in Cyberpunk to remotely know that. (I don't know the wireless tech in the lore) I had no issue with that statement is why I didn't answer that specific case.

All of the content wasn't cut because of bad gameplay. I believe it was more due to time constraints, last gen hardware, and shift in design in the middle of the project. I have no solid proof but there is questions on design that made finale release. (IE: Why do you easily get so many quick hack components? It seems like they were a single use item like a grenade at some point and the resource system was not changed.)

I don't have objections that content was cut; I object that they still use cut-content in advertising. I understand that it may been created prior to release, but throwing up some annotations (aka Text) saying Not in Finale release isn't hard. Not doing it is shady.

Aesthetically, Music, atmosphere (outside of the lack of interaction) the game is great, but it leans heavy on the big wallet...
The Big Companies use Graphics, Big Name Music and Large Open Worlds so to separate themselves, as smaller budget studios can pretty much achieve a similar product of quality besides these areas. I don't have faith/hope they will do anything more than they absolutely have to, and I expected more out of CDPR by the Reputation, previous history. I was proven wrong, and I may be so again. I just don't believe it will be fixed, even through I want it to be.

I can't get through 1-2 side ops without stupid Grenade bug or something else acting screwy and having to reload the previous save and start again. I wish I could get through the game smoothly for a time, all the reloading when not flatlined is annoying.

(Mechanics of how Sim City works on the surface may look like same old same old, but they don't work. All the previous versions they worked, but they did not work in Sim City 2013. You are right it should of been an easy rehashing but it still doesn't work. I haven't touched EA since 2013 due to release state of that game, and that they never even tried to fixed it.)

Honestly this game needs four things to be GOTY.

1 Polish, including some animations and of course bugs being resolved
2 AI tweaking, though NPC AI seems different though not sure if this is the mod I installed
3 Optimization both High end and Low end, meaning no more shite draw-in.
4 Gameplay balancing and tweaking
