Unusual Expansion idea [Spoilers]

Witcher 3 expansions were continuations for Geralt or Side stories.
We can't have continuation for V for obvious reasons.
So what if CDPR added another main story line branch at the begining of game, maybe without Silverhand biochip, Just create new story arc for V without even witnessing Silverhand. Maybe about gang wars where Jackie doesnt die Evelyn doesnt die Meredith Stout doesnt die. You can also unlock more map areas. Add activities and romances as a bonus.

So if you going to do let's say 2 more expansions just make them full on campaign story branches. Silverhand's campaign would be just 1 out of 3 or more main story campaigns with their own plot twists and endings, crazy.

So after all Expansions and DLC are done just imagine how huuuuuuuuuuuge game would be with 3 or more full on main story campaign arcs true RPG choices omg i can only dream :)

What really gets me is that they shaved her head.

That would be a really fun thing to do that'd I'd have a blast with, but it'd basically be creating a whole game again, no? I share your wishes though. That'd be an interesting way of doing expansions.

I'd always thought the new Maglev line had potential, with or without Johnny, but I'm very keen, if there is DLC, for it not to devolve into pure, generic action (so I'm the opposite of keen on the most commonly requested one, a Jackie and V have adventures DLC). That is not what Cyberpunk really excels at.
 
I have zero interest in notion of an early game V expansion, unless there is post game expansion to deal with the horrendous railroaded ending.
 
if you introduce entire new arcs for main game, you have so much freedom to create any type of story, let it be casinos in space, or mr blue eyes arc.
Maybe drop few side quests or references to silverhand, its complicated but could work perfectly you could have 3 games in 1
and you would have even more endings for each campaign.
 
The way that is build Night City is very suitable to kind of episodic releases, kind of campaign supplements like in tabletop . But I would prefer to be independent stories with brand new characters except recurring NPC and maybe via some casual conversation or shard you get to know about V fate; this will allow to explore the other arcs hinted in V story without interfering with CP2077 story and its outcomes.

I'm all for branching storylines but this is a lot of effort. Continuing V's story would be easier imo, the ending states aren't all that different (aside from Temperance and Suicide). You could argue that it would lessen the impact of picking an ending, sure, but that's a bonus for me. There are too many interesting unfinished leads (Peralez/MBE storyline, Alt's ultimate goals) and V is a compelling protagonist, it would be a waste to throw them away for a DLC-only new character. They just need more agency.
 
Sorry for being stupid OP but....what are these 'obvious reasons'?
And I don't really like this idea. If they choose not to continue V's story, then it would be better to have completely new character (and maybe few variables depending on your choices)....
....the plus side (as I see it) to your idea is that they can use a lot of already created assets to give us a new story....
...but I am hoping for a real expansions:)

There's tons of potential for story based extensions. We just need to be patient for them as I'm sure will take a lot of time to create them eventually.

This is why I always make sure to go Meredith's way.
 
Just a poor salary man making some extra bucks on a side job.

To defend Meredith's honor she was just doing her job!
....that said Meredith is probably a bad person that deserves her (maybe) fate:) After learning that she is romanceable (before the game came out), I thought that maybe she will end up having a heart of gold under a cold exterior or something but....there was barely any romance, unfortunately :D
 
I have some suggestions :

Take advantage of the verticality of the game, make more missions in high altitudes, inside buildings and terraces, other ones where you can feel the sound of the wind and danger, or being suspended by cables or on the edge of buildings and see all night city (any time of the day) . Missions in flying vehicles / huge floating casino where you see all from high altitudes and feel the vertigo. Enable the metro station system. Wing suit system.

Weapons : i think each weapon should have it's own violent/dismemberment touch and physics. I think it would be very attractive to see for example how much physical damage the weapon inflics to the body when shooting. For ex a power weapon: one could find burned smoking holes in a body besides stronger ragdolls to impact., or désintégration (i think the dismemberment caused when shooting with a turret weapon is amazing feels so satisfying)

Mantis blades: it would be awesome to choose what limb to cut off, and more ragdolls to impact,... Being able to climb buildings would be amazing and a serious reason to choose it. Because in the current game mantis blades are just the same as the katana there's no point on choosing it.

New spawning enemies when coming back to old mission zone. Random spawning enemies when exploring. Or the option of reseting enemy outposts. This would increase the replay value of the game making it addictive. Because in the current game there isn't anything else to do once you reach level 50 and complete all the missions.

when entering a night club, there should be more flashing lights pulsing in total dark areas

a character like hideo kuze from ghost in the shell. misterious ,half man half machine hiding in the net
