Update 2.1 Patch Notes

+
Thanks for mentioning that, it seems several other issues are also not retroactive.

Did a quick test now and hostile areas are working properly again on a Phantom Liberty skip, but not on my current playthrough. So will have to check all the rest as well once I start a new playthrough as soon as Sonic Shock is fixed.
That´s good they fixed that but it really should apply to the older saves as well- I really don´t want to start a new playthrough just to get all the benefits of the patch, that´s just annoying.

I completely agree, but unfortunately it's just how it is with CP.

I even always tell people that these major content updates do not retroactively fix stuff in existing playthroughs so they should start anew, but this time I honestly wasn't expecting it to happen for 2.1, didn't seem that major.

So looks like this playthrough is going into the dumpster now because I can no longer trust even bug testing on it. I even tested this bug here which I thought would work on my existing playthrough and it didn't, but it worked properly on a fresh playthrough... so weird :D

Is there anyway to change the Primary Interaction button to "E" (or any other key). I have it bound in the keybind settings but it still forces me to use "F".

Why did they nerf the Apogee Sandevistan? If you have a max level character and spend hundreds of thousands of eddies buying/upgrading your cyberware, you should be extremely powerful. This was one of my favorite parts of the game, being able to use my sandevistan and enter bullet time to take out a group of enemies, but now the duration has been CUT IN HALF along with the bonus duration you get from kills, along with the axolotl cooldown reduction. WHY?!?!

This is such an odd decision and I seriously have had less interest in playing it recently even though I haven’t beat the main story yet. It’s going to be such a disappointment if they don’t revert the apogee sandevistan back to its former stats; it might just keep me from completing the game.

I don’t understand why a SINGLE PLAYER OFFLINE GAME needs balancing, like who cares if you’re OP?? If you don’t want to be, then just make a different build or use different cyberware. It’s an awful feeling logging into my game and being less powerful despite not changing anything about my character. In the world of the game, V has become less powerful seemingly out of thin air, and that is a disappointing feeling. I really hope they go back on these changes to the axolotl and apogee sandevistan, the game plays much better that way.

Game is now unplayable after the patch (2.1)

The game pans bottom left to top right and cannot be controlled. If you get on a motorcycle, the view locks to bottom left ground level and you can't steer or look around at all. Even menus are auto scrolling to the top so you can't even scroll down. Mouse works in every other application on my PC, but is totally broken in game. You can't aim, can fight, can't drive, etc. ...unplayable.
I wish I could uninstall this update so I could continue with Phantom Liberty!

EDIT: I'd never had this problem before, but after digging around on other game forums it was suggested to reset all the menu options to default, and that did fix the issue; I just had to remap a couple keys that I use differently than the default.

Issue resolved.

This sorta change makes someone like me think I might actually enjoy a sandy run for a change. I'm on your side in principle and not happy it is ruining your fun at all. I know how to hold back on my own, I treated my sandy like it had an invisible humanity cost and should only be used to save hostages or if I was really about to die.

Point being though, there is a target audience for that sort of change and I'm one of them, cuz then I might actually use the thing more without falling asleep at the wheel and losing when it fails or runs out.

  • DLSS Ray Reconstruction – now available in RT Ultra and other RT modes with RT Reflections enabled.

Remember to manually update DLSS and ray reconstructions DLLs to the latest version for better results

Like a slow motion trainwreck - it gets worse the longer you stare, but you just can't help.

RT reflections, at least for water, are disabled when riding the metro.

Works just fine on foot.

Like many people I assumed this was something they couldn't finish in time for 2.0, but it's glaringly apparent they threw this together in the last two months.

Probably there was some issue with the train's window reflection interacting with the water reflection in some weird way?

That's unfortunate, hopefully they're gonna fix all this in the next hotfix. I am more concerned about the gameplay related bugs tbh.

I don't know if this is intended or not, but Male V lacks the proper sound effects for savage sling, and it's been like this since the release of 2.0. Again, it could be intentional, though I wouldn't understand why since they're blatantly cool sound effects that just don't play for male V. Maybe this can be changed in 2.1.1 or 2.2? Idk, just please add the sound effects from female V, onto male V so I can listen to that satisfying "robotic screech" noise. Maybe make it part of a quality of life update, and that update being 2.1.1. That sounds like a great idea.

Couple of issues with the new radio feature. This is with a controller on PS5 btw.

1. When tapping the radio button it used to cycle through radio stations without having to open the radio selection menu. Now it just turns the radio on/off. So basically if I want to cycle through the radio stations to find a good driving song, I now have to stop everything I'm doing, open the radio menu (which pauses the game) and click on each radio station individually until I find what I like. It sort of ruins the flow of the game. Since CDPR are so concerned with QoL (removing cyberware from weapon cycling), then why make the radio selection process so inconvenient? Please bring back the radio cycling. You can make it a double-tap on the radio button if you want to keep the on/off switch on a single-tap.

2. The new radio on foot is all well and good, but I like the ambience of the city and the ambient soundtrack of the game, so I don't plan on using it. I still listen to the radio in the car though, as that's part of the immersion, and it's what I would do irl too. The problem I'm having is that after the update every time I exit the vehicle the radio continues to play, and I have to manually turn it off EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. The game should remember if I had the radio on before entering the car. If I did, it would leave it on when I get out of the car, but if I had the radio off before getting in, it should automatically turn it off when I get out, regardless of whether I was listening to the radio INSIDE the car. Either that, or add a toggle switch in the settings like "turn the radio off when leaving the vehicle" or something along those lines.

I don't know if CDPR even read this forum, it's my first post here, but these 2 things made the gameplay so frustrating for me I had to mention it somewhere.

Why does Judy's message mean it's a dating sim? why is this stupid message in the phone and marked as the main quest. You are making the mistake you made in the release when cars for sale were marked as a task. fixed in 2.0 and now it's a dating simulator, why?
Um...it doesn't? It's optional repeatable dates. You don't have to do it if you don't want to. Frankly, I think it was a nice thing to add for those of us who felt the romances were a wee bit stale. It sucks there's no new dialogue, but the little interactions do bring a little more life to the romances so better than nothing.

So, just to clarify, are you saying that you are happier with the updated/nerfed stats, or did you like the previous stats better? It seems like you’d be less likely to fail with the sandevistan or run out of it in the previous version of the game, or did I read that incorrectly?

Nah I just wasn't terribly awake when I wrote it and it could have been a bit more clear. The short answer is I am more interested to try it now that it is nerfed. "fails or runs out." was referring to me getting so complacent with my playstyle that if it unexpectedly failed or canceled early (quests bugging out cyberware activation for example) I could actually die. If it's intentionally designed to run out in less than ideal conditions (not enough enemies to kill for duration) then you calculate that into your playstyle which could be fun for me.

I have no idea yet whether it's a good change and won't until I do a different playthrough. I majored in tech snipers and minored in netrunning this time. I may still opt for a different model than the apogee for my purposes and use it as an ultimate get out of jail free card again, but the idea of using it all the time and it having enough limitations that I'm not bored in doing so is appealing to me.

On the other hand I agree with the notion that nerfing the obviously OP choices in a single player game is kind of nonsense when being op is one of the ways people have fun. There's plenty of other options and approaches a sweatlord like myself can take to tie one arm behind my back. I set out to have underpowered netrunning this time around but failed by taking overclock and slotting system collapse. 16 int, no queuing, no complementing cyberware for extra ram/regen. Just a biomon and I can still clear out whole encounters with ultimate hacks. But yeah sandy needed a nerf I guess idk lol.

Still no fix to the Misty getting stuck in the tarot cards quest.

CDPR, Please change the sound of the Quartz Bandit back to how it was. It was amazing before, now it's just... 'meh'. I loved driving it just for the sound, and now I can't enjoy it anymore.

CDPR, thanks once again for patch!

I'm hoping you will make some slight tuning for added features in this patch.

1. Metro -
  • addition of possibility really enter into a railway vagon from street
  • stay on metro station
  • NPCs can walk in and walk out from a railway vagon on a metro stations.

2. Hangouts -
  • Few more new dialog records with partners would be nice.
  • Dance, bed, conversations - good, but still missing addition of dinner option and hanging on together at balcony / window just look on city around
  • Your partner can stay at your apartment as long as he / she wants and do any staff - reading magazines, braindancing, cleaning weapon, cooking some staff, sleeping, watching TV...
3. Radio
  • Addition of possibility to turn off radio when you leave a car (like it was previously)
  • When you inside apartments and use optics on max zoom - ratio magically turn on
4. H10 apartment
  • Return back a possibility to sleep in H10 basic apartment

5. Cars / motos / vehicles
  • Possibility not to only buy vehicles and to sell them all as well
