Update 2.1 Patch Notes

+
Literally been playing this new update for like an hour and already ran into several gameplay issues.

First, the random gang attacks are nice when driving around for iMmerSioNS, but good lord does it make owning nice cars practically worthless now since they'll be scratched and banged up literally every few minutes when another random attack happens. Should've added mechanic garages around the map, or something, to off-set this so I don't have to completely abandon my car just to drive around in it without it being all smashed up through no fault of my own. Adding one "immersive" feature now ruins another for the people that don't want to drive around in smashed up cars all the time. >.> What do you know, a feature that should've been there day 1; auto-shops that repair your car/let you customize them is needed now more than ever now that you guys are leaning harder into the open-world aspects of this game, geez...

Second, speaking of the drive-by gang attacks, has anyone else been perpetually locked into a combat state after killing the enemies attacking you? This has happened 3 times in a row now and each time I either have to wait for long periods of time before the game finally recognizes I'm not fighting anyone anymore and finally lets me save my freaking game or I have to go inside of a safe house, which is incredibly inconvenient when these attacks are random and all I'm trying to do is side-quests. I don't mind being attacked on principle, but when it starts making the game, literally, unplayable (can't save the game, can't interact with vendors, can't pull up my phone, etc,) that's a huge issue.

Third, why the hell does my controller vibrate now when I'm using M&K to play the game? This has never happened on any pervious version of this game for me, but now all of a sudden when I do certain actions on M&K, like double jump, my controller shakes as if I inputted the action on it. This wouldn't be a huge issue either way if we could just turn off controller vibration, but for the life of me I cannot find that option in the menus, and I like driving in this game on controller more than M&K, so constantly having to plug my controller back in to drive isn't ideal either. Guess I'll have to play with my controller on the floor next to me while playing if I don't want to risk it falling off of my desk or lap because it keeps vibrating even though I'm not using it currently. How did this even happen? Someone please tell me where the option to turn off controller vibration is located.

Haven't even gotten to most of the new features yet and I already feel like we're being used as beta-testers yet again for what is now a 3 year old game at this point... The eurojank spaghetti code must run DEEP, huh?

Somebody in this forum quoted Pavel saying that 2.0 & PL were developed right after release so most likely on an old build next to the build they patched up to 1.63… missing to include half of their ducktape fixes into the current 2.1 build… seeing old bugs returning its most prob true in regards of beeing beta-tester once again : /

Been saying this from the moment 2.0 dropped.

Its feels like they had two teams working on CP in parallel after release. One working on PL and pretty much rebalancing the entire game and the other fixing bugs on the original CP.

As someone whose been playing from Day 1, I much more preferred the old version. There's some great additions in 2.0/2.1, but I would rather have them incorporated into the 1.63 version of the game.

Choom imagine if they added depth to the perks and items instead of simplifying/streamlining them. The bones were there they just needed more meat on them. Oh and better difficulty design without the broad brush of level scaling?

Ah what could have been.

Driving around is very relaxing for me and it's one of my favorite things, so "V can now be pursued by gangs" ruined that ... sometimes I drive for 5sec before getting attacked :(
Yeah, I don't like it either. Ruins the enjoyment of driving around the city in a nice car just to be jumped by some clowns packed in a clown car, turning the entire game into a clown show in a game that clearly was not design for stuff like this from day 1. Like, I don't even bother entertaining a "car chase" anymore because there's never enough room on the road for that to be any kind of fun and this game's car combat controls suck on a controller, plus this game's idiotic driving AI still routinely gets stuck against walls and other cars, so it's not like the AI would be able to keep up with you for more than 5 seconds before they spazz out. At best they just rubberband blast their way behind you in a Villifort that's obviously getting a Mario Kart speed boost. So now I just get out and kill all the enemies on-foot, where I at least have more control and saves me the risk of scratching and busting up the nice car I was in, or at the very least, lowers the probability of it happening. With no way to repair your current car without outright abandoning it first, this addition practically squashes the desire to drive anything in the game that isn't an armored/weaponized vehicle, and since I just get out anyway, (since something like front-mounted turrets aren't exactly helpful when the people shooting you are behind you...) not even sure what the point of them are anymore for me either. Pretty apathetic to this addition now and it's gotten pretty old, pretty fast...

I will insist with this again :

Respawn / infinite NCPD Hustles P L E A S E

And, yes the keybinding is a mess since day one, i ALWAYS have to mess with the inputUserMappings.xml to have proper keybinding ( as never use the default keybinding), its honestly a pain at each update adding change to the keybinds.

Even the menu organization is really not good.

Hi,
The thing I'm most curious about is will FSR 3 and frame generation features be available on XBOX consoles after this patch? Or will there be a new patch for this from now on?
Thanks.

I am done.

15 crashes today!!

On a brand new next gen console.

4 of them during the same main mission. OH and of course each time, my scope an silencer lost tier levels. So had to load a previous save. But that doesn't help when You have to reload from the being of a mission that doesn't let you save at certain points.

Because tier 4 silencers are so super rare and well never spawn in stores or drops. Oh and You can't craft them either. And that's not the best part. The Gun mods that You can't ever change out also loose tiers or change entirely.

This is the most broken patch ever.

Fix this or this day 1 player is done permanently!

Or at least acknowledge that You are looking into and trying to fix this. The game is unplayable AGAIN!!!!

Since they've fixed the gun wall my last and only real complaint is to be able to finally be able to get all the unique clothing sets to spawn in one playthrough. Yes I know clothing doesn't really do anything anymore but since 2.0 dropped I have beaten cyberpunk 4 times beginning to end with the legendary tech pants ( my favorite clothing piece) not appearing at all. I would be okay even buying them from a merchant at this point.

I'll wait patiently until they launch a new patch to fix these issues, and I'll keep playing until then. I just hope they change the repeatable dating quest, by choosing to call the partner and an option to have them come over instead of that annoying yellow text notification always on the screen. Like, YOU choose when to have them over. Also, V and [insert partner's name] can do a lot, except for having sex? C'mon, CDPR, add a sex scene to the date!

An extra sex scene would have been nice. They have the animations for sex in general. Joytoy animations could be re-used for the LI depending on gender and orientation. But I would have liked some new dialogue as well. I'm glad they patched one of Kerry's cut lines back in though.

Another reminder that Xmas is 10ish days away. I know the holidays make ppl extra mean and pissy but do try to not be?
Hey I completely understand that.
And I am trying to be as polite as possible.

However, misconduct and bad practices that have continued for years at this point shouldn't be acceptable. CDPRs track is glaringly bad in this respect.

As a consumer, it doesn't really matter that the holidays are around the corner. This company has a duty to provide quality materials. Not shotty work that makes the game unplayable for a number of its consumers.

Especially patches that destabilize the game back to a day 1 level.

15 crashes in an 8 hour period is almost 2 crashes an hour. How is that substanable from a business stance. Or a PR stance when they Release a Documentary about redemption. Or win awards for best on going game?

On what planet should we reward this kind of behavior?

It's a lie.

This is not about getting a patch quickly this is about accountability.

This company has no room make this kinds of mis steps again.

When this game works it is probably my all time favorite video game ever made. But how as a consumer do I want to reward companies like this?

Will they fix this, of course.
They are one of the few companies on earth that does what's right by the customer.
However, taking years or months to do that isn't right either. We can't continue to condone and reward bad business practices.

I am not playing the game again until it gets fix.
I am not sharing screenshots of this latest run through or talking about this game in a positive fashion.
I am done with the frustration until its patched.

So with all do respect, holiday or not they have an obligation to their consumers to fix this, asap.

Hey TK52477, you are angry, thats sad. I hope you can play the game soon enough.
But before you blame the company, lets think about this... How many playthroughs you already made in the 3 years? How many hours you played? How much joy and happiness you already experienced with this game? In the past 3 years. 3 years man! You play this game for about 3 years, its crazy!.. And then think about this: Who made all this?..
You know the answer, brother.
Amen.

Of course I am angry.
I sat through 3 years of bad patches always trying to stay positive and give props to the devs for the fixes they had done.
3 years of watching a company claw itself back from ruin.

Should there be props for that of course. For the most part they have done a remarkable job. The team fix nearly every issue.

Of course, it doesn't excuse bad Business decisions. Releasing a game so bad it is has been rightly called the worst release in video game history. That is something CDPR will have to live with forever. That is solely on the company.

Of course the company is to blame. It's their product. It's their teams releasing this. They own it. They own the development and it is entirely justified to hold them accountable. It's not like some one else built and developed a patch that makes the game unplayable for fear of losing gear, or hit unpassable glitches.

This is absolutely CDPRs fault. And thier track record backs up that blame a 1000%

Poor development rests on the management's heads as they allowed its release and push led for it.

Patch 2.1 is broken
Making the game itself unplayable.
And not because of something like vehicle combat, or the wanted levels or anything like that.

It's because all the new features overloads the very game machine/consule/device its meant to be played on.

This isn't about some new game mechanic, all of which I really love.

It's that the game keeps crashing and data is being lost.

That is an issue for devs and its their fault for clearly not doing proper quality control or testing.

So who else is there to blame??

Well I'll play the devil's advocate, and won't deny that 2.1 update have a lot of issues, but "unplayable" maybe not.
I mean 48K players are currently playing Cyberpunk on Steam, and I seriously doubt all of them are experiencing regular/constent crashes like you experience which would make the game "unplayable" :(

I don't say you don't have crash issues, but most of players might not, so :
(I suppose it could help a bit CDPR to figure out why your game crash frequently)

Hey that's great.
Only I am not on steam.
I am on a brand new next gen Xbox. (As stated in multiple previous posts)
So of course players on a PC might not be effected the same way.
