Update 2.3 Patch Notes

+
does this update affect the modding community? i just cant play with the mods I had downloaded when I was playing the other day and now I cant as of today
Like any update, on any game, it could (and likely will) affect mods.
If you play with mods, simply disable auto-update in your launcher if possible and only once mods get updated and compatible with the last version (generally it's pretty quick), then update the game and your mods and it should be fine.
For example, today most of core and most used mods on Cyberpunk should be updated and work fine on 2.3 ;)

Thanks for supporting the game, but guys, it's 2025 and your game on ps5 doesn't have dualsense gyro targeting. When I launched cyberpunk and didn't find it there, I was very disappointed. Please add gyro targeting to cyberpunk 2077.

Update 2.3 lands tomorrow on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S! The update will also be hitting Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 at a later date — stay tuned for more detes!

Experience Night City in a whole new way — this patch introduces 4 new vehicles, the AutoDrive feature, self-driving Delamain cabs and more! It also contains updates for CrystalCoat™ and Photo Mode, as well as support for AMD FSR 3.1 Frame Generation, Intel XeSS 2.0 and HDR10+ Gaming on PC, among others.

Update 2.3 also brings Cyberpunk 2077 to a whole new platform: Mac with Apple silicon! The game can be purchased via the Mac App Store and other PC storefronts. Vehicles

Added 4 new vehicles, including several Side Jobs tied to acquiring them:
  • Yaiba ARV-Q340 Semimaru
Reward from a new side job (to unlock, complete The Hunt and The Beast In Me).

An additional side job unlocks the CrystalCoat™ feature for it.
  • Rayfield Caliburn "Mordred"
Reward from a new side job (to unlock, complete The Beast in Me: Badlands, The Beast in Me: Santo Domingo, Transmission, and Search and Destroy).
  • Yaiba ASM-R250 Muramasa
Reward from a new side job (to unlock, purchase 1 Yaiba vehicle, purchase at least 3 vehicles through AUTOFIXER, and complete Reported Crime: You Play with Fire...).

If you fail the side job, the vehicle can later be purchased through AUTOFIXER.
  • Chevillon Legatus 450 Aquila
Available for purchase on AUTOFIXER.
  • Introducing AutoDrive! This cutting-edge, autonomous driving feature will take you to your chosen destination (i.e. job objective or placed pin on the map). If you have no set destination, it will take you on a leisurely ride through the streets of Night City. Simply hop in any of your vehicles, make sure you're on a road, and hold H (PC) / Left Stick (consoles) to activate. This feature is disabled when you enter combat or when your vehicle is heavily damaged.
  • Implemented Cinematic Camera for AutoDrive. Hold Q (PC) / D-Pad Right (consoles) to activate. Sit back and enjoy cinematic views of Night City as you cruise toward your destination.
  • Self-driving Delamain cabs are now available on demand! Simply open the menu to call vehicles, then select "Delamain Cab" from the list to request a ride. This feature unlocks after completing the job Don't Lose Your Mind (regardless of outcome) and receiving a message from Delamain.
  • Rayfield's CrystalCoat™ is now available for vehicles from partner brands, including motorcycles. Additionally, the infamous hacker known as Cosmetic_Troll exploited a vulnerability and created a cracked version of Rayfield's CrystalCoat™ technology for lower-end vehicles. Please note, however, that some models do not support the technology, such as heavily modded nomad vehicles and job-related vehicles.
  • Fixed an issue where unique color schemes did not work properly on the Mizutani Shion MZ1 and MZ2.
  • Fixed an issue where unique color scheme could not be applied properly to the Villefort Deleon "Vindicator".
Photo Mode
  • Added 27 new NPCs that can be spawned in Photo Mode, including Rita Wheeler, the Cassel twins, fixers, Dum Dum, the iguana, Brendan, and more.
  • You can now switch between alternative outfits for NPCs spawned in Photo Mode.
  • You can now switch between V's saved Wardrobe outfits in Photo Mode.
  • Added a confirmation pop-up when exiting Photo Mode to prevent accidental exits after setting up the perfect shot.
  • Added more customization options to the Look-At Camera feature, including an option for only the character's eyes to turn toward the camera instead of their entire body.
Added improvements to Lighting:
  • Lights now spawn around the camera instead of the player character.
  • Added an outline to the spotlight mesh and an indicator when it's off-screen for better visibility.
  • Improved light movement speed on controllers.
  • Added multiple new stickers and frames, including iconic quotes and stylish overlays that let you turn your screenshots into Night City postcards – perfect for sharing memories from the City of Dreams.
  • Improved Depth of Field and moved it to the Camera tab.
  • Added a new Color Balance tab, allowing you to create your own custom filters.
Added a new Time and Weather tab:
  • Weather: includes rain, acid rain, fog, sandstorm, pollution, and sunny.
  • Time of Day: changes the time of day within Photo Mode.
  • Frame Forward: advances through an unlimited number of frames to capture the perfect shot.
  • Game Speed: allows in-game time to progress while in Photo Mode.
Quality of Life & Accessibility
  • The game will now detect if the player is using inverted mouse button settings and automatically adjusts in-game button prompts accordingly.
  • Added an option to toggle aiming down sights in Settings → Controls.
Jobs & Open World
  • Cyberpsycho Sighting: Bloody Ritual - the "Crack the ritualist's shard" objective now properly disappears from the Journal after completing the objective.
  • Sex on Wheels - now properly appears in the Journal after receiving the message from Jake Estevez.
  • Shot by Both Sides - fixed an issue where selecting a specific dialogue option in the conversation with Bree created a nameless, iconless item in the player's Inventory.
  • Shot by Both Sides - fixed an issue where the button to go to the lower level didn't appear on the elevator panel.
Gameplay
  • Fixed an issue where, when using a controller in Trauma Drama, the controllable character would default to shooting upwards instead of forward.
  • Players can now drop more Cyberware Capacity Shards if some within the intended drop limit were previously missed.
  • Fixed an issue causing automatic weapons to fire slower than intended.
  • Fixed an issue where the Official BARGHEST Tac Vest didn't drop from the scripted Airdrop as intended.
  • The level 60 Engineer perk no longer activates the EMP blast outside of combat or after entering a vehicle.
  • Added an option to replay the gameplay tutorial at any time via Settings → Controls.
Miscellaneous
  • Added an option to tell Johnny to go away after you look at him for a short while when he appears in the passenger seat. He takes the hint and disappears as a passenger for a couple days.
  • Fixed an issue where the sound of V's Radioport could be randomly interrupted by the Radioports of nearby NPCs.
  • Fixed an issue where History by Gazelle Twin and Trash Generation played too loudly compared to other songs on the radio.
  • Improved the HDR Setting screen: fixed the HDR calibration preview so it correctly reflects the chosen settings, and clarified the description of the "Tone-Mapping Midpoint" setting.
  • Updated the End User Licence Agreement. You will be asked to accept it again when you load the game after updating.
  • Fixed several visual issues with missing, clipping, or floating textures.
  • Fixed several localization issues in various languages.
PC-specific
  • Added support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 for compatible AMD GPUs. IMPORTANT: The FSR 4 option will not be available in the in-game settings until the supporting AMD driver is installed. Please note that the driver will be released at a later date.
  • Added support for AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution Frame Generation 3.1 for compatible hardware. It can now be used in combination with any upscaler.
  • Added support for Intel XeSS 2.0, with XeSS Frame Generation available on compatible hardware.
  • Added support for HDR10+ GAMING certified Intel GPUs. To enable this feature, your display must support the technology (Find My Display) and have "Game Mode" enabled. The HDR10+ GAMING toggle can be found in Settings in the Video tab.
  • Fixed an issue where the DLSS Super Resolution Preset would invisibly revert from the CNN model to the Transformer model after restarting the game, even though the UI still displayed the CNN model as active.
  • Added more detailed information to the DLSS Super Resolution Preset tooltip in Settings to help players choose the best option for their setup.
  • Added the ability to move the mouse cursor to a different display while in Windowed Borderless mode.
  • Increased the maximum save size from 12 MB to 15 MB.
  • It will now be possible to rebind the key used to jump out of vehicles with the Stuntjock perk.
Console-specific
  • Added VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
  • Fixed an issue where foliage was not properly affected by weather conditions on PlayStation 5.
Disappointing that the auto drive function is so laggy & uncustomizable.. It was one of the biggest features of the update... vehicle frequently stops on its own and refuses to drive, doesn't go over 50-80 even when it does work.. maybe its for realism but at least give me an option to make it faster. Can't even summon Delamain at all, maybe just me but it doesn't spawn in nor come to my location at all: also doesn't take my money.

After update the photo mode just crash... any clue on thet, i've read on reddit that is the nvidia drivers and problems with the raytrace on, but i have the raytrace off and the drivers up to date

Update- I've removed Photo Mode Unlocker Mod and is working

Even worse for me, it keeps going off road in some area, and try to kill civilians (it was a police officer last time ...). I wasn't expecting this feature cause I think the AI for driving isn't good enough. It's fun to see NPCs doing stupid stuff while driving, but I just gave up using auto drive.
Maybe some vehicles are better, I didn't have problems with a delamain cab (but I only tried once).

1. The Autodrive is broken - feels like my first driving lesson - 2. The game crashes every time I try the Delamain Taxi - 3. the Quest for the new Car from Reyes wont trigger - and in this savegame all quests, and activities (incl. the dlc) are done - just the repeating ones and the " Meet Hanako at Embers* are in my quest log. For a delayed update ... poor performance. Please fix the bugs soon. Thank you. ( I didn't check on photo mode, because i never used it befor - for me it is an unnessesary feature (i would've prefered more new quests without cars , or ng+) - but I'm sorry for all the gamers who love it and have now problems)

I just tested FSR 3.1 with optiscaler on Cyberpunk. It looks amazing. Why didn't CDPR didn't give us that. FSR 4.0 only works on the RDNA4 cards :(

does this update affect the modding community? i just cant play with the mods I had downloaded when I was playing the other day and now I cant as of today
Yes, but most of the major mods that were impacted have now been updated. Download and install the new versions.

Please tell me the stutters are finally gone. I've checked my temps and the VRAM usage and both are fine. Temps never go above 60C (Mainly hover around 52-55C), and my VRAM is at 10GB, leaving 2GB to spare. It's also not my mods, as I recently started a fresh Nomad playthrough, and even at the Nomad introduction in the desert, I was still getting stutters, so it's not an issue of having the settings too high either. This is with and without mods, and yes, I've reinstalled the game. It happens on a fresh install with no mods installed.

I have an Intel i7-12700KF and a ROG Strix RTX 4070 Super OC.

Added the ability to move the mouse cursor to a different display while in Windowed Borderless mode.
Whilst I can definitely see people wanting this. I would love an option to keep my mouse cursor confined within the game while playing in borderless please.
I had to switch to Fullscreen (which is a bit more cumbersome for my situation), to avoid possible issues of accidentally ending stream or banning someone in chat. I can definitely see that happening with chat and obs on monitors next to my gaming monitor. And I have indeed had that happen in other games.
Just a friendly suggestion/request.

I applaud autodriving mode, but more cars??? Why never more (and faster) motorcycles?

Also, I'm starting to feel like the NPCs are way better dressed than V. More & better clothing and accessory options would be great.

So on xbox X we get alot of fps drops now that weren't there before this patch .. yes on perfomance mode !
so can we get an answer on that please

I mean thanks I guess.

Do I miss the option to permanently turn off the depth of field checkbox, or is it not part of the update?

Asking because the new photomode layout made it even more tedious to find it and turn it off every. Single. Time. The photomode is entered.

How do you actually trigger the quests ? I've done all the prerequisites and waited around an in-game week and still no text from River or El Capitan. The Joker card quest from 2.2 never triggered for me either, does anyone know the quest id's / stages that I can put in CET to kick them off ?

I still like the update. But I would rather you fix the traffic system that I knew seemed a bit dodgy. You said the npcs follow the traffic laws what law expects you to stop at a green light and go at a red one. There is red, amber and green. Red is stop, amber is prepare to stop or prepare to go and green is go. The auto drive follows the route exactly, which shouldn't be a problem right? Wrong, they go full stop at everything even straight lines. Now taking the Delamain is the exact same experience. Cars and bike are awesome. Don't delay and do nothing with the traffic system.

Anyone having a bug with "Killing in the name"? When I go to the Biotechnica flats the quest marker points to the billboard without ladder (with a big 0 written on top) so I cannot progress the quest. The billboard where it is supposed to point to (the one with the ladder and a big 1 written on it) does not have any router to interact with.

The seemingly random stops, especially in turns, are perplexing. The autodrive mod that's been around for a while also uses the in-game traffic system, and it doesn't suffer from that problem. So, I think that there's some sort of bug in the tuning of the new autodrive feature. They should be able to iron it out pretty easily, but for now, it's annoying.

stop it. you're killing your game. for the first run after every update i make a clean install without mods. i've never seen 100% cpu usage before. i've never seen absence of anti-aliasing. i've never seen so many crushes of the game.
autopilot is awful. it stops before every turn, tried to attack 2 walls and 1 car, ran over a cop IN THE FIRST 3-5 MINUTES. "cinematic" camera has 0.000001 dpi sensitivity and jumps huge steps. V's elbow lays on an imaginary door when the real one is broken and absent.
useless crystal coat works only when v is in the car. i drive fpp only, so i never see your outstanding new teknologia. i see more v's face implants than all ultra mega stylized cars combined.
i ran over a bunch of pedestrians, and got 0 attention from cops. nice carmageddon mini game inside cyberpunk again?
there is still a lot of levitating items, half-buried and running on the obstacles people.
i still need to turn off the goddamn blur on every attempt to use photo mode. can you somehow add these settings to 15mb save files?
[...]
i have 1000+ hrs in cyberpunk, but less than 3 hrs in 2.2 and even less in 2.3. looks like i have to find 2.12 somehow if i'll ever want to play it again. 2.2+ are made for artist and content makers. ok. still the best game ever, but i feel bad about its latest development.
