Update 2.3 Patch Notes

+
Hey! I want multiplayer with tons of microtransactions, random skins for the guns, and please—lots of dances and smartphone compatibility! 🙏
And in my opinion you should make your customers pay a monthly fee to play the game, remember add anticheats and don't allow any kind of mods, thank you, seven blessings to you all

Apart from fixing a few minor bugs and improved graphics quality for some people this update is fundamentally worthless. More cars? Don't care. More photo mode? Don't care. More game play options? Zilch. And the so-called quality of life improvements, as usual, were done by someone who has never even played the game and has no idea what QoL improvements are actually needed (#1: fix the fast travel minimap not automatically using Custom mode when it was the last mode selected; this was broken in 2.1 and is seriously annoying).
And yet I smile !

i think it's a shame, that we didn't get PS5 Pro update. With right PSSR implementation it could really benefit this version
Perhaps not enough people own a PS5 Pro at this point, around 10 percent of sales of PS5 are Pros. So CDPR are taking more time on that patch? They did hint at a 5th Anniversary
I really can't put into words how pissed off I am by the lack of a PS5 Pro update. I guess I'll take that as the big middle finger to Playstation owners that it is and uninstall the game after five years. What a joke.
CDPR may be improving on that, perhaps have on ready to launch properly, I say around the "5th Anniversary" of CP77 come this December 2025. (PS-5th Anniversary. It would be a Pro move!) There is plenty of time...but, I would rather CDPR focus on Orion and let Virtuous do their thing with all the goods that will keep CP77 fresh. Also, did CDPR say they were NOT supporting PS5 Pro? Hmmmm.

Proper coding? Unacceptable? You mean like how launch Cyberpunk 2077 was?

As for future updates, I recall we were told 2.2 would be the "last patch". No need to worry about "future" updates. Adding a few cars and photo mode options will have no real influence on New Game+. We know it can be done, we know it can be done well, and not being done is simply a choice.

Launch 2077 is in history, we're talking about the current studio's approach with current pipelines.

Second, maybe you're talking about 2.1 patch? Because during the 2.2 showcase, they didn't mention 'the final patch' unlike during 2.1 presentation. And you really believed they've even hired 3rd-party studio Virtuos for 2.2 (most probably via contract which implies a certain amount of works and terms) for just one or two patches?

Even if it was like final-final game. Nobody wants to keep the last version in a messy (risky) state.

My point is, "mods made it why can't u" isn't really always a valid argument :) . I believe you can ask chatGPT or find video-materials about entire game-development process on YT.

THANKS CD PROJEKT RED ! It's amazing to see such a support for a solo game released in 2020 !
I just discovered the game with the Switch 2 and I'm very glad this patch will be released on Switch 2 as well !
Big UP to the whole team !

Just a question: did VIRTUOS (and Adrien Jouannet, with his lovely French accent) work only on the Switch 2 patch, or also on other platforms ?

Next time, could you clearly indicate the time at which the update will be available, please? I'm assuming 5 PM (Paris time), as originally planned, but nothing really confirmed that information — it's just a deduction.

Awesome update !
THANK YOU CDPR & Virtuos !
To all the naysayers/haters : this is a minor patch, a 2.3 patch, like the 2.2 patch.
This is not a major patch like a 2.0 or a 3.0
I know we all WANT more, and hoped for more, but this is already awesome ! And Free !

So lets be grateful and happy and encourage our beloved devs so that they still feel our gratitude and still have the will to give us more !

For those dishing out hate, just take your hands on wolvenkit and TRY to develop something that would remotely look like a quest, you'll understand the hassle and the complex aspect of it, and I am not even starting on the whole mess and coordination / calendar hell it would be to reunite major/minor NPC voice actors just to add some lines of dialogues ...

So KUDOS to CDPR and Virtuos for making updates, even if they are "only" cosmetics and QoL, they ARE welcomed and awesome :)

"If a mod can do it, CDPR can do it. And they can do it better."

Well hum ...It depends.
Talking about NG+ : people always talk about The Witcher 3, but they forget that CP2077 is massively different in terms of storytelling. And take for example the Erebus rewards. It would make NO sence to be able to restart the game with the Canto or the Intelligent gun , as the Erebus AI presence would completely trump the whole storyline. Just for THAT reason, NG+ is not a viable coherent option for CP2077.
Of course a mod exists and is more of a band aid on a broken leg than a real solution.
Including it in CP2077 at a professional studio level would require such massive storytelling rewritting that it clearly is NOT a priority, and even for us gamers it should NOT , the efforts for such a minor addition would be so big that I'd rather they redirect on adding more content to the game rather than add this over estimated option.

TPP ? Yeah, mods can do it, and the results are AWFUL.
I love the Witcher 3 BUT honestly, imho, the TPP is the thing I hate the most in TW3, really. Messy, not shooter friendly.
Ok for close combat , but for shooting ? NO.
And again, adding an option in CP2077 to "switch" from First person to Third person when V switches from shooter to mantis Blade/monowire/Gorilla arms, it could be cool, but the dev for that is huge. Again, the effort is not worth the gain.

Here CDPR is working with Virtuos in order to externalise some development they can't do themselves because they are on other projects.
As talented as Virtuos can be, they can't take on deep game modifications like an engine overhaul or whole storytelling rework.

Of course modders can add stuff, can extends lore to a certain limit, and some can even create stuff that can NOT be shared out of their own computers. Eg, on my side I created mods that add content such as conversations, dialogues, quests, BUT they are not lore friendly, and when you create new dialogues by either splicing existing audio or using AI to generate voice lines by cloning existing voices, it is fun BUT not authorized.

So "if a mod can do it, CDPR can do it" : NO.
Some stuff can NOT be done by CDPR for sooooo many reasons (legal, copyright, time, story telling coherence, etc.)

Another patch and the Attribute Check Scaling is left untouched... Unfortunate.

I realise the din of the "All I want"'s must be deafening, but given how unpopular said feature is, I fail to understand why it is not culled or an option added to change how steep the Attribute Check Scaling is and/or turn it on and off (in which case literally everyone wins). Even the mod which is often cited as why CDPR put this in has that functionality.

so
far year ago I sold my mac to play cyberpunk on new windows PC
But now ... I will back to macOS
ty so much

Hello, dear developers. Will the trophy darkmobile and its crystal coating be fixed, because the purchased one has a coating, but the trophy one does not

Looking forward to getting hold of this update and getting engrossed in more good stuff! I'm still miles behind checking out the new stuff from the last update, love that this world is constantly growing, thanks very much!!

where cars & patch?

Fr I have over 1k h in this game and maybe once did I use photo mode we dont need that we need visible cyberware more hairstyles more clothes that NPCs have I need ALTs netruner suit xdd we do appreciate the updates but you don't listen to majority of players only minority that use photo mode like why... Even homeless NPCs have better visible chrome xddd cmon
Do you mind if i ask.... why do you care about those things in an FPP game if you don't use photomode? as you have 1k hours on cyberpunk you'd know better than me that 90% of cyberpunk gameplay doesn't show v.... especially v's hair. Unless i'm like missing the joke
