UPDATE TO PC SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

+
Perfomance is quite improved compared to 1.63.

Running on GTX 1050 (4gb), 16gb Ram, HDD, locked to 30fps at Steam deck quality with some at high and medium. rarely drops.

SSD is exaggeration for minimum.

For info: i7-13700K + 32GB ram (6000MHz, CL36), RTX 4070: using max RTX setting with 50-80 fps in 1080p. Game runs perfectly smooth so far (tens of playhours in 2.0). I had only one crash which was at benchmark return to main menu, however this one was only onetime thing, next benchamark runs ended properly.

Sure the game can run on HDD, but CDPR will no longer test the game on HDD and you will likely see some oddities, like for example many duplicate/clone NPCs.

I find that I can still run the 2.0 version quite well on my old system.
i7 core 4790K
16 gb RAM
1660 geforce 6 gb
With old hard drives (win Ready Boost) I do get good performance on moderate settings.
Sounds good! I’ve mostly the same system (except with an RTX 3060 12GB, and Intel NVME SSD), so I’ll probably go ahead and give 2.0 a shot. Haven’t gotten very deep into the 2nd part of the game, so I’ll probably just start again.

According to Daniel Owens video, it does seem that PL, in Dogtown atleast, seem to be more resource heavy. From what I can gather atleast. Would be interesting too see how things go at launch. Right now I am just looking foward to finally play the game, even if I need to sacrifice image quality...

seems like it works in all the systems he tested, I get report from people with lesser hardwere that have no problem running the game in the same settings as before.

Maybe they will release the update with a day 1 patch.

my concern is how now even low setting , CP 2077 is burning our laptop
only with CP 2077 having issues with temp , tryed all thing , after more 1h of play , temp GPU going over 82/85°C
i tested this on 1.63 with lastest ndvia drivers , both cpu/GPU going 65/75°C
if turn on CPU boost , CPU 96°C , GPU peak 87°C ( lucky there's safety mesure , at peak 87 my gpu slow down )

tested , other resolution , dlss auto , quality ,
less issues with FSR going less hight temp
each time i get those crazy temps , i reload (my save ) the game by the main menu
like i said , not getting issues temp on 1.63 , all fines , the game running very smooth , i even run the game even at RT medium preset with high quality texture ..

there's no visual gab 1.63 vs 2.0

Well, 2.0 is supposed to increase CPU utilization. If anything it's acting the way it should.

Now, with that said, those temperatures are concerning. That's on the very high side of things. Do you regularly clean your laptop?

You'll definitely spend a lot of time throttling down due to temperatures and, obviously, reaching these high temperatures isn't good even with throttling. I'd suggest underclocking to reduce heat if it doesn't impact your performance too much. Or look into possible cooling solutions that exist for laptops.

don't take any offense ,
but i've all ready done all checks
working on game industry as a freelancer , get many utility / tools to check the integrity of my hardware .
like i said , even i pick the lowest setting on patch 2.0 , the game keep "forcing" after few minutes ( 1h/2h ) hight state pn cpu/gou , this is not normal .

tested lower setting , 720p cap fps 30 , getting the issues it'll take more addionnal minutes
no issues on 1.63 .
get an Acer nitro 5 , so each year i repast CPU/GPU, each 2/3 month i clean my fan .
i can assume the problem isn't on my side :)

No worries, no one has any reason to take offense to what you said. I was asking because, well, I have no clue who you are, what you do and what kind of care you put into your PC.

That's out of the way and knowing what you just said, I can only assume you do this the correct way too.

Still, I'm not convinced it's an issue with the game. Nor do I think it's an issue on your end per se. I'm getting the distinct impression your laptop is just pushed to it's absolute limit with whatever changes CDPR made under the hood. I'm not saying it won't change but I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

for any one having this issues , finally find out
3 step to do
open ndvia control panel
- pick option multi-thread , active ( by defaut is set to auto )
- pick for power plant - define bu drivers ndvia ( by default , is optimital performance )
- not mandatory but that help to get steady fps when RT enable , cap fps (in my case i set 60 max )
now temp 're all fine 62/63°c both cpu /gu , no temp keep rising
i can replay this patch as the same setting RT medium like as patch 1.63

If the game is utilizing the additional cores more thoroughly, then those additional cores are not going to be clocking down, increasing the heat load.

I downloaded the Cyberpunk 2077 and Phantom Libery DLC on Epic Games. but Epic Games can't download the DLC and I can't see the DLC in the Cyberpunk 2077 Add-Ons section.

I got myself a 1440p monitor finally and I have to say 2.0 runs VERY decently - getting 50+ FPS all the time with default Ultra settings (that's with FSR Q) on a 6700 non-XT and i5-11400F. Perfectly playable. For how the game looks and plays, that's a STELLAR job.

So i noticed something yesterday while playing, when 2.0 hit i saw no difference with CPU usage or anything else hardware releated, Fps was a bit smoother and RR made it look a bit better but thats it. Yesterday i saw my CPU pulling over 200w and hitting 85c (has never happend in a game before) during normal gameplay but the usage wasent really higher... Its kinda hard to measure when you have alot of cores but it was at 17% average. So something has changed since i started playing atleast, im guessing the scripts and background tracking is increasing the cpu usage...

if you check you speed clock , and voltage , we can see more strange behavior
first time i was quite chocked looking my power , volts , cpu clock
80% Cpu usage , clock speed stuck 3.73Ghz , max power drow in ly case 45W with 1.125 volts , crazy temp on CPU
after doing some tweak , finally run at 4.2Ghz , power drow 30w , 0.8/0.9 vots cpu temp less 10°C , CPU usage 65/80%

and this goes crazy too for GPU..

if we don't use some tools to priority on on how manage CPU/GPU , this patch 2.0 seems to take always max power , hight state GPU even you pick the lowest setting .. and you may get after 1h some crash , drop fps ,

Hmm doesent happend for me, its 5,5 ghz all the time. Gfx card is hot and drawing more then most games but cp2077 has always done that for me -.- No issues for me except i noticed this increase in cpu power draw. Never seen a game draw that much power tbh.

The game is running noticeably more consistent in 2.01 than in 1.62. It’s quite interesting. My CPU is the old i7-4790, so it’s actually a bit below the new minimum spec as well.

Haven’t had a lot of hands-on time with this update, but am definitely hopeful for a fun time. Policy are certainly a lot more lively too, as my Swiss-Cheese on wheels can attest to.
