I think I've noticed that when I click far away he runs but if I click real close to Geralt, he'll walk instead. Maybe that's what you're seeing?

Eeee... no. My point is, that it seems after a certain trigger geralt starts to be faster and everything around him also. In OTS camera mode, so no clicking. Guess I'll have to make movie to demonstrate it.

I wished there was a controllable sprint. In some cases, a sprint can make quite a difference.I usually walk, if nothing important needs be done, run to important things, but a true sprint (say to save person X from creature Y) would be most welcome.

It's not quite controllable but I have found that if I hit 'Q' to draw a sword Geralt will start to run, then hit 'Q' again and he will change the orientation of his sword and you will sprint just a bit faster.Doesn't seem to be an illusion.

Well, I have nothing against a special "sprint mode" in which Geralt woudl run much faster, probably this would be accompanied by a blur effect and an endurance drain. But I'm (and other more observant people) spesking about random changes in the Geralt's speed.[MOD]Merged threads[/MOD]

:dead:Ok Yes it happens on medium also. The Game Does have a bad bug. The runs speed glitches al the time. if I leave my PC on and come 5 hrs or more later. The game locks up and Windows does a force shut down on the game. error report gives notting back, of course MS. PC is loaded 4G of RAM 2.8 Dual Core AMD 64 bit CPU, VIDEO ATI OCI-express 512MB. Kinda disappointing good game, just very buggy.

I measured the time Geralt needs to run from a certain place to another. Normally it is 9 s, but when he gets "hyperactive", it is only 6 s.And as I already said, I think also NPCs move faster (and monsters!). Maybe monsters also attack faster. Of that I'm not sure.I think it only happens in the OTS mode, that's maybe why not more people are complaining about the problem.Guess I'll have to cease playing The Witcher, because this really ruins the game :( Or switch back to non-"enhanced" edition.

I'd just like to confirm that this happens when playing in OTS mode - Geralt's movement speed is highly variable and seems to change after loading screens, dialogues, etc. Sometimes he is very fast, to the point where it is almost comical (and useful for getting around quickly) and sometimes he is quite slow, slower than some NPCs. It seems to be almost entirely random, however, because I have observed him moving at different speeds in the same locations at the same times of day. Might be related to meditation and whatnot, but I don't think it is connected to how much he is carrying or anything like that, and is also not dependent upon the game's framerate.EDIT: Upon further observation it appears that it also occurs in the point-and-click modes of play as well.

I sent the bug report to the Czech CD Project tech support and they promised to forward it to the polish HQ. They also asked for my DXdiag and I provided them with the link to this topic.

When I first started playing the game, he was running quite fast. Now in chapter I he begins to run quite slow -- barely as fast as the villagers. Is this a bug, or a mechanic of the game I don't know about? Any help is greatly appreciated, thanks!P.S i'm using some mods like "Flash's mod", "Texturen mod" and "High Res Models". Edit: Also want to add that I have no performance issues with stuttering or lag.

Ok, I have a problem with this! Sometimes everything is fine, and Geralt runns at normal pace, but somethimes when I go into some other area, or the game loads, he starts to run very fast! I have a good rig, and all the drivers are up to date. What is the problem? It's ruining the immersion..

I do apologize for taking so long to respond to this . I did read it and got sidetracked and forgot about it until i started rereading some of the posts . I also had this problem from time to time in my game and as of yet have not located where the problem originates . I have never experienced this issue in the prologue but so far only in acts 1 and 2 and as far as i remember only part of 3 ...in Vizima . But what i don`t get is one minute he`s like a rabbit on crack and 1 area later he`s like molasses in winter . I did make an exception in my antivirus which is avast and that seemed to help some but didn`t get rid of it completely . But i never noticed this issue until after some period of time after meditating and immediately after meditating things were normal again for a while . One thing definitely puts it back in normal mode and that is to exit the game and restart , i realize that`s probably not what you were hoping for some have said that alt/tabbing works but i never tried it myself . If you don`t mind please read: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Getting_tech_help_on_the_forum and attach that PCWizard report as instructed and that way i can compare your system to mine and maybe find some similarities

I think Geralt runs fast if you change your sword to fast style or group style, if it's strong style he runs a bit slower. Might this be the issue you're talking about? Or is there really something glitchy?

I'm in the same boat as n4meless1. I have a good comp, all updated, and I have this same problem, and it is *not* in anyway related to a combat style. Geralt will be jogging along just fine, and then a load screen happens, and suddenly he's like on crack running with his arms and legs at full tilt (even the running sound effects speed up). Then perhaps another load screen happens and he's back to a medium jog, not as slow as before but not as fast. It is, I repeat, not related to having his sword drawn (as it happens when he's not in combat). It makes me crazy and really kills immersion.

I just reload and reload until he runs at a normal jog again, because it makes me crazy. Needless to say, it eats up a lot of play time. :( It'd be great if this could be investigated. FYI, I have had this problem in the prologue, too. Sometimes when the active Geralt first loads he runs like crack up the ramp ... othertimes, it's fine.

looks like you are enjoying one of the game features as expected
not expected is a patch for this or for any other known bug
