Very low FPS everywhere

I have played the game from friday and it was totaly fine, yesterday I have played in the morning and everything was fine.. then I turn on the game in evening and from beginning, I had 3 FPS, even in menu.. and I don't know what is it... I tried everything.. graphic at low etc.. nothing helped.. any other games are going fine.. just the witcher 2.. any ideas what can causing it? I have steam version..

EDIT: Fixed.. the problem was caused by x360ce controller emulator.. I haved disconnected my controller and from that time there was the problem..

If it was working fine before, tells me that perhaps something is going on with your PC itself. Like perhaps a process is taking a whole lot of memory or CPU usage.

A driver update perhaps? Like an Nvidia driver? I heard the newest Beta doesn't work well with this (and probably other) games. Try 296.XX.

I had install 296.10 hour ago and it doesn't helped.. perhaps reinstall windows could be the best solution :D.. I really don't get where this problem comes from.. any other games, for example battlefield 3 or assasins creed, are going fine.. really don't get it..

btw my spec are:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300 , 2.5 GHz
4092 MB DDR2-RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti

Do a clean install of your graphics driver before you do anything drastic like reinstall Windows.

There is nothing else to do, same situation, a good framerate before EE and now a huge performance loss, cleaning and re-installing all the catalyst drivers since 11.12 gave the same results ...

No, the EE is just messing performances for almost everyone ...

EE does seem to be causing more problems than fixing them. CDPR didn't do a very good job in executing for the PC.

In my case i had better FPS with EE, maybe you should try a new install of the game, fixed most of the stuff i used to have, haha, just keep installing until it works fine!

Lol, I also re-installed the game 3 times or something like that ... still not fixing the performances ...

Sooooooooo ...

I bought EE on Thursday and what i seem interesting is that it was fine.. and suddenly 3 FPS when I start the game.. I mean.. even in intro and menu.. I just start the game and 3 FPS from beginnig.. and that is interesting because in menu and intro i am not ingame lol.. really don't get it.. i tried to reinstall it, I tried everything..

Before reinstalling, also delete or otherwise move away the witcher_2 folder in my documents. Apparently the ini files there cause a fuckup with the changes made to the engine. It'll wipe your old saves, so it's your choice. Or, and I haven't tried this myself yet, instead of reinstalling, just take out the witcher_2 folder from my documents and start the game again.
You can leave the saves, I guess, but this may lead to other problems if they are prior EE.

Worked for me, but there's still a bit of a fps drop in DOP heavy scenes, which actually look worse now than before, as I mentioned earlier. Wait, maybe I did on the gog forums, lol.

Also, if you have x360ce controller emulator files in the bin folder, don't start the game without starting the x360ce executable first. Either this, or remove the emulator files. This may cause a massive framerate drop right off the bat.

Yeah that's it!! I disconnect the controller on Sunday and from that time there was this problem :D When I connect it back, game works fine :D lol thanks.. never occurred to me that this causes the problem. Thanks for your help ;)

But still, I think I would do clean install of my system.. my Windows are in an awful state again :D
