I very much like the idea of an optional agreement to essentially play open deck list, but I do not think vial of forbidden knowledge is the best way to offer this.
1. There are multiple reasons not to run Vial even if you would like open deck list. These include: running a devotion deck, having no space for the card without giving up something you need more, or not wanting to get “stuck” with Vial’s basic ability. The developers could make this last issue go away by making Vial even stronger, but then it becomes imbalanced for players who cannot take it.
2. I am forgetful enough that I would like to see the deck list beyond the first round. But giving the card persistent resilience would consume board space.
My suggestion is to separate the option to see other players deck lists (by mutual agreement) from a particular card choice. Give it a checkbox as the deck is built.
