Geralt's hero-presence is so impressive that when he leaves the site, people will be gripped by mortal fear. That's how crucial he is to the safety of the townspeople.
Or maybe they're just afraid of bugs.

Also, the female bards there seem to have been in a different profession before.


BUG INFO: The arc is the trigger point. Every time I cross that threshold there, I make the bards panic.

Background info: This and my other Witcher 3 video only happened because I decided to hunt for the oddly-walking crate carriers in Novigrad, but the ones I found walked normally. There was no patch, so I don't know why it didn't happen today, but usually crate-carrying NPCs have a very glitchy way of walking. Anyone else noticed that?

This bug with the screaming is caused by whoresons henchmen attacking you. Thats exactly what happens at 0:20, you just dont know it yet. They have a ridiculous aggro range and can spot you through several buildings. As soon as they do, you enter a "pre-battle stage" where you might still be able to jump around normally and all but npcs around you are programmed to react to the battle. Just that in the case of this funny bug/design choice there just isnt any battle yet and you cant even see an enemy.

Happened to me countless times. Figured it out eventually.

You are right, and it was actually bandits, and they were in that alley, but strangely, they didn't appear as hostiles on the map.
