VIDEO: Dev Diary #2 (part 2)

It’s time for the most tech-heavy, in-depth engine-detailed and hardware-related Dev Diary. The programmers give you the insight into RED Engine. A lot of things you might have not known before will finally become clear to you...

I love this video. So full of detailed information about the engine. These kinds of promo videos are extremely rare nowadays. You guys really know what you're doing.Keep it up!

This dev diary was fantastic. Very insightful and for once a chance to hear the technical aspects from the ground up. LOVED EVERY BIT!Its a nice touch guys. A lot of devs nowdays tend to forego showing the inner workings cos a lot of the newer breed of gamers dont appreciate it. They only want to know when its coming out and what features are in it. Alot of videos today cater to this new breed of "dont tell me how its done...just tell me WHEN its done" mentality. Thanks cd projekt for not following this trend and remembering that there are pc gamers who do take interest in such things and thanks for reaching out to the inner geeks in us, which most of us Witcher fans are, as most of us DO LOVE the technical stuff and appreciate it!! Man you guys surprised me again, best dev diary yet! Really added a ton more details. Its like suddenly discovering an NPC with 10 side quests. WONDERFUL!

Hey guys, thanks for your positive feedback! We just thought it might be interesting for some more advanced players and even computer geeks ;-) We always appreciated fans asking for details. And yeah, we still have this gut-feeling that we're going to provide you some more videos about the game!

The Witcher 2 is really going to look good, I appreciate it since I love graphics. I'm a fan of 3ds Max too.I'll be sure to run this game on max settings. Max requirements won't exceed my PC will it?i7 9206GB DDR3 1600MHz TrichannelHD 5850SSD read: 230MB/sI'm really looking forward to the Witcher 2's colorful and embracing world. There's not many games out there with really good atmosphere nowadays.

Great Diary! And yet again we get to see some more faces from the dev team. I like very much how you are using those ready-made state-of-the-art components instead of trying to reinvent the wheel. Now I can understand how on earth you were able to create the new great engine so damn fast.

Another excellent diary, it has already been posted a few days ago but i love hearing about the new Red Engine.Hopefully you can make a deal so other game companies can use Red Engine after TW2 is released.

Thanks for all those yummy details! The Tsood Engine sounds like it's just as smart as everything else the game's makers have done. Of course, we expected that of you guys, because we've played The Witcher, and we know that you're the best. But with all the badly thought-out games out there, it's a real pleasure to hear from folks who GET it.I still think story and gameplay are way, way, WAY more important than graphics, but I know you guys need great graphics to compete in today's market, and it sounds like your graphics are going to be positively eye-popping. And of course, the previous dev diary told us something about how the new engine will allow you guys to make extremely complex choices and storylines work smoothly, so the Tsood Engine sounds like a win all the way around!

I must say, thank you CDProjekt! I've been playing PC games for awhile, and lately it feels like developers are more interested in sales than their community of players. I ain't saying focusing on selling is bad, but it's also good to know that you're not only thinking about that. Thanks again guys and I'm eager to play this game. I think it's going to be the first game I'll pre-order.In any case, I guess what I'm trying to say is that, I appreciate the interest you take in your community of gamers, and I am pretty sure this game will be ground-braking, because just like the Witcher 1, you offer a very refreshing style of RPGs in this day and age.Keep up the good work! Can't wait to play this game. I'm loving the Witcher 1 and am sure I'll love the Witcher 2. :)

I think changing the name is a good idea. "Red" translates easily to any language and has a built-in mnemonic with CDPR-RED, but "Tsood" is kind of weird unless you speak Polish.

*laugh* Good one!I don't know if this children's story is known outside of English-speaking countries, though. Is it, guys? There's a story for children about a small train engine that tries to go up hills that are too high for it by repeating to itself, "I think I can, I think I can." This small engine that's full of positive thinking is called The Little Engine That Could.
