Well 1.5 didn't bring the miracle I was hoping for, although the game starts at least without the DVD error message ;) Still crashing trying to get into the Temple Quarter or the pubs in both quarters :(
can you give me these savegames that do this? you can send it ( use 7zip to archive it like instructed here):-via PM, link to the place where you upload it-via email, see my profile for the addressalso do specify what you do to get it crashing
Could you find anything useful?

I have the latest DirectX.I already have the Vista hotfix as I have all the updates. And the June 2009 very latest drivers for my video card WILL NOT install, I get an error message and the download is corrupt. I have to use the 9.5 drivers, the May 2009 ones.

ok, read those Vista tips, run the game as Admin in Windows XP Compatibility mode and see what happensas i'll be offline for the next week:*get a recent PCWizard report*get a recent errlog.txt*get a nice description of your problemattach and email those to: support@thewitcher.com

I just tried something else. It occurred to me that as I had not yet got very far in the game, it might be just as well to delete all my saves and start again, what with having patchd to 1.5 since starting. I thought maybe my savegames had got bugged. Also, rather than starting the game from the launcher on the desktop, I asked the game to run from the Witcher.exe, another tip that I had picked up on this forum. I gave myself a good half hour of play and then decided to try and save and quit.Sshh...whisper it who dares, but it seems to be working. Did not crash on save at all. Running on highest settings too.

Hello,I have a Problem, I can´t start The witcher, because it crashes when Iw ant to start. It starts and for 2 Second it appears a Blackscreen and than It crash. I don´t have a Desktop Icon. And in "all programms"I can´t find it. I only can do it when i search on my Harddrive. I use Vista and Im Overpass the System maximum Requirtments. I tried everything from that one Thread witch gives you Tips. I only had Problems with the first Tip becuase iam sure that I have Vista Service Pack 1pls Help me

I hope someone can find you a solution for your problem because it sounds like you're having the same issue as me. I've posted here in the forum with no resolution and emailed customer support but have been ignored twice. It's extremely frustrating. :<

I guess, the Only thing what I can do is Send Atari a E-mail with my adress and the serial key. Maybe they send me a Working CD...

Can't really help since I'm really not all that technical, however i can try to bump you into the right direction:Read this:http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Getting_tech_help_on_the_forumRun PCwizard and attach the log.Hopefully somebody else will be able to make sense of it.Also check if it is in the actually installed (don't know in Vista, XP has "Add or Remove Programs") and try a de-install and then install again.

I done it now that it works:1.) Install "The Witcher"2.) Patch to 1.53.) goto C:/program files/The Witcher/System/ and rightclick on "Witcher.exe" and Select "propertys" Run on Windows XP service Pack 2 and make a check at "start in Solution 640x480"4.) double click at "Witcher.exe" and hope that it starts.5.) When it starts have fun^^

Oh my god. That worked! D: Thank you so much for sharing your solution! I had tried that before, the 'run on Windows XP" bit, but hadn't checked the 640x480 option. How strange! Thanks again so much, you have no idea how happy this makes me.

;D that makes me happy that it worked, because it´s a very good game. The start is very Easy but when you´re than in Wyzima, you become so much gold xD.someone should pin that

Sometimes, it reboots the whole system. .I am running Vista Ultimate SP2, with a Intel Pentium Dual Core 2,66 GHz processor, a nVidia 8800 GTS with 640 MB, 4GB of RAM. I also have all the latest video and sound drivers. The game is patched to 1.5.I have tried running the game in compatibility mode and as an administrator. The game still crashes. I have attached the PC WIzard scan and the error file from the Wticher SYSTEM folder. Hope it helps.Any help will be kindly appreciated.Thank you.
