no, just make a folder somewhere, run DXSETUP.EXE, and you can delete the folder after the successful installationSillyMammo said:Where should I extract the DirectX files to in the witcher folder?
Just a quick question: is this on a particular save game? Or does other saves from earlier acts / areas give the same result?I know, I know. An irritatingly stupid question, but it must be asked.SillyMammo said:I've been playing my Witcher EE (DVD) for a couple of weeks now with no problems. i was going to tackle this angle after all things got updatedi have a strong feeling that this happens in Chapter 3yet savegame issues were mostly in the Swap/Cemetery/City dungeons, and not buildingsChuckles said:Just a quick question: is this on a particular save game? Unfortunately, I'm not home right now, but I had thought that it might be the save, so I've tried going back to a previous save to check and the same result. I might try starting the prologue to see if it crashes too, but this problem just start when I came back to Vizma after the first few swamp missions.I'll install DirectX this afternoon and attach a errlog. Thanks for all your help.Chuckles said:Just a quick question: is this on a particular save game? :hmmm: Chapter 2, not 3. But I get you point Licaon_Kter.I always try the simplest approach first, because (for example) trying an earlier savegame is far easier and less potentially damaging than updating your drivers.SillyMammo said:... but this problem just start when I came back to Vizma after the first few swamp missions.
do send me a savegameyou can send it ( use 7zip to archive it like instructed here):-via PM, link to the place where you upload it-via email, see my profile for the addressalso do specify what you do to get it crashing ( do save before entering the Inn, so i don't have to do all other things firstSillyMammo said:Well I loaded the DirectX and went back to a previous save (which started right outside the Hairy Bear Inn) and it seemed to be working. I was able to enter another buidling and come out of it and leave to go to the docks and re-enter the city again. It seems to have problems after getting the messenger drunk for the WANTED Quest. I get the information, sleep off the drunkness and head out of the Hairy Bear Inn...Then it crashed me.
