1) Its anonymous and therefore we allow ourselves behaviors online we never would in person. We think there are no consequences and so we say what we want and act out. On a few forums I use my real name and my picture... guess what, I am very careful what I say in those places. Not as much when you know me as Killgrow or CougerI am.
So you go to a fancy restaurant and get served cold food with a fag butt stubbed out in it. Would it be your job as a diner to eat it anyway, or would you complain?
Sorry, I didn't realise this forum was only for people who have no complaints about the game, think it's perfect as delivered, and believe that any bugs or gameplay issues they find must be their fault.(I have no idea what your job is, but it it's one where you never have to deal with a single complaint from a customer (legitimate or otherwise) and you have a special noticeboard where people can fawn over how spectacular you are, I suspect you're lying, or have a really really simple job. The kind robots will be doing soon.)
There is a grey area between saying "CDPR, you suck" and "this game is PERFECT", and for those of us who have some issues with the games this seems like the most appropriate place to discuss them; maybe we're wrong, maybe we're not, but dismissing our grievances as the rantings of ill-mannered armchair experts does us a disservice. You think the game is fine? That's your choice, and you are free to express that, but by the same token I am free to express my thoughts on areas that I feel the game has fallen short on. I am not demanding CDPR rush out and remould the game to my desire, I am expressing an opinion; if you do not wish to read the opinions of people who find fault with the game, don't read them.
2) Its easier to attack someone at a distance or who is far removed from you. Just human nature.
3) Its also not a live discussion so you have time to write and edit your response without instant feedback from others(like in a conversation) and in doing so you actually strengthen your argument and resolve. You get more direct and secure in your argument as you tweak your response.
4) Too many bad examples set by the media like Jerry Springer and reality TV. Even the nightly news is all about the bad things happening in the world. I am 52 years old and only knew one person who was murdered(friend of a friend) and very rarely am I victim of crime, but from the news its seems the world is a bad place and there is nothing good.
I read an article about this from Scientific America. I paraphrased from my memory. It even suggested that web rage was unhealthy and lead to issues in real life, both social and physical.
I will say I tend to enjoy games much more if i limit my time on the forums or just click out of negative threads and I almost never watch the news anymore...
