I voted Wolf and Shrike. Swallow helps, up to a point, but I've found the biggest problem is doing enough damage (fighting melee, not using signs much if ever). I use swallow and blizzard to keep me alive long enough to finish the job and in the harder fights that's not happening without some help in the damage department. Especially when getting attacked by groups of monsters with a habit of dishing out pain, stun or even knockdown effects, it's hard to stay alive long enough to kill them.

Swallow without a doubt, I tend not to bother with most of the others except for perhaps some of the harder fights.

All potions are unique and useful, but the most used potion i guess is swallow.

After completing the game on hard mode I voted for swallow for simple reason that it's the most useful potion in early chapters, blizzard being the close 2nd. Later on Geralt becomes so strong that none of the potions make big difference to his survival. Sure, I like wolf, full moon is also nice but none of them give such a boost to your survivability as swallow in chapters 1-2.

For all around usefulness I will go with swallow. And in later chapters Swallow+Full Moon. For combat situations Wolverine is also excellent.I use wolverine with my Rune Sihil + the 60% dmg rune and I absolutely kick ass.But for the vote I will go with swallow.

Swallow: if you get low on health you can just run around a bit. Later stages - full moon, wolverine and tawny owl.

i vote swallow, it can be quite useful for longer perods. full moon is good, but if you lose hp, it wont rege back fast enough in my opinion.

Full Moon definately seems nice and all, but unless you take the gold talent in toxicity reduction, even albedo seems like upping your toxic level when you could be using it on other things, and thusly getting some really nice combos like wolf/wolverine or tawny owl/marribor forest. I definately think swallow is the most useful since it's probably the potion I use most. When I'm using it with other potions, I usually pop something albedo first, and then go nigrendo for swallow. However, when I'm just running around taking on things that aren't as tough, I keep a seperate stack of albedo based swallow potions for those "one potion will do" moments. Incidentally, I'm surprised to see white raffords getting votes... I only use those when I'm in a really serious jam, which thankfully isn't often. That being said, a nice rubedo based wolverine or marribor forest is sufficient in situations where I know I'm not going to take too much damage, like fighting necrophages. I'll admit, I tend not to pop swallow in those situations.

If you use the Igni sign as much as my witcher does Tawny Owl is the obvious choice. My guy doesn't use his sword much, since most of his opponents are incinerated by the time they reach him. He has developed Igni to the point where he can launch a first strike from over 100 feet away. With Tawny Owl working he can get off at least 3 fire blasts before closing to hand to hand, and will have a 4rth ready in just a few seconds.

You may also want to consider Maribor Forest then to have even more Igni ;)

What I can see is no one likes the potions which provide better effects to your attack such as wolf :p I thought they will get 0-1 vote before starting the topic and I am right so far ! :) At least they bring variety. I myself use them only because they are there, I do not need them :p

I'd like to cast my lot on this one: wolf or wolverine is amongst my favorite. 18 hours of increased critical hit? 50% attack efficiency? I just take a nap after wards then head off for some adventuring! Swallow is ok, but its so short and your tox climbs every time you need it. I'd rather get juiced up and apply some thoughtful oils to both blades. nothing survives long enough for me to need constant health regen (and a little bindweed never hurts). Although i do keep a couple White Rafaard's just in case.Besides, all those tox red flecks are kinda pretty. In their own way.

I think that the best potion is Jaskolka. I am polish so I have polish version and I do not know what in english language it is called due to some the total name diffrences and I do not see any above as translation for that. This potion gives you energy and a bit of toxics. I find this potion as the best cause it gives you fast regeneration of your life and is very handy in a combat.

1. Full Moon2. Blizzard3. White Rafford's Decotion4. Whatever the one is that makes you immune to knock down.Wow, come on guys. 2x hp is better than a little hp regen. I'm guessing most of these guys didn't get to the end phases. I hardly ever used Swallow around there, it was Full Moon+Blizzard.
