Wallrunning removed

This one really sucks for me because I was really looking forward to talking advantage of wallrunning both to sneak around and to move around in combat as a sneaky melee hacker glass canon

How about delaying the game for a year or two instead?
Cause that becomes annoying.

Anything "fun" left for Melee gameplay?
Any good news I missed for a change?
Are Takedown still there?

To be fair, the wallrunning thing is from 2 years prior on footage that had the disclaimer that what you're seeing is not final and subject to change. A lot of things can change in 2 years.

It sucks but it's not uncommon.

which we'll likely still be able to do...just not with a wall running mechanic. likely something else. with all of the absolutely wild other mechanics available to us, i'm not concerned about this. they said vertical traversal was going to be contextual.

they also said anything they show is subject to removal soooooooooooooooooooooo...my expectations have always matched those words instead of what i may or may not be excited about.

maybe Max Pears and the entire dev team is also sad and annoyed that an honestly really cool game mechanic had to be cut after 6.5 years of development. just a thought.

We never really saw much of it to become begin with, so i am not gonna cry over the loss of it. Could have been interesting thing to explore but i'd imagine it was a pain to implement level design wise.

If we go there C2077 may have well become a puzzle game.
Well, we know they hired FPS game specialist for C2077, maybe next time it will be open world level design specialist so giving the player more freedom of movement will not be considered a problem anymore.
With that and more experience in freedom in RPG C2078 will maybe be really close to what I hoped for C2077 (And with Night City mainly done, there should have a shorter development).

what about the Mantis blades ? Are we still able to climb walls or building with it ? I don't care about much about wallrunning as long as wall-climbing is still there

maybe so.gif

and there wouldn't be a d*mn thing you or i or my cousin could do about it. so what is the function of all this nihilism? i don't understand ._.

I'm curious about this as well. I didn't care either way about the trains or car customization, but things like wallrunning and climbing with mantis blades are little things that made this game what it was for me.

Unlockable ways to deal with the world based on our choices are absolutely huge in an RPG and to me.

Can someone point me to the video and time stamp of the original wall running?

I've watched the one from 2 years ago at least 10 times and never noticed it.

oh noo ;-;
it sucks. i hoped there will be a lot of parkour options since cp2077 says there's cybeninja gameplay.

Remove this remove that, with all these removals we'll remain with the witcher 3, just with more cinematics instead of empty horse moments to go from quest A to quest B.
Oh wait...we'll just remain with cinematics o_O! 60$ It's a little too expensive for a movie..

@KakitaTatsumaru they don't have to be, but they can. and what i mean by that is i don't understand what the origin or point of so much of this hopelessness is. like i feel like this and a few other threads are giving up without holding any of the cards. there's a million games without wall running.
and @Africa_Digi that section is at 43:15. the gang group hacking feature is there too, at which the narrator states clearly that that group hacking feature might be scrapped. which should be a reminder that the wall running feature wasn't subject to any permanence either.

work in progress means that that progress might be reversed. soagain: why the hopelessness when we still don't actually know anything? and when what we absolutely did know is that features weren't permanent no matter how cool?

Right around the 43 minute mark of the 2018 Gameplay Demo
EDIT: it's more like climbing.

Thanks! That looks so creepy lol. I definitely won't miss it.

It would have been cool if they added wall running in the fashion of Mirrors Edge. That would be more simple to implement and you could use it in combat situations.

emphasis mine. i think i understand the spirit of what you mean here, but that phrase you use "simple to implement" is dangerous. in a game environment like this with narrative and gameplay mechanics as complex as these...it's not simple. at all.

Every single person that has played the game mentions there where almost no Cinematics in the game. Do you instead mean conversions? If so RPGs might just not be your thing.
