Want to separate games from steam

I bought the Witcher 1 and 2 thru steam recently and would prefer to have them not be within steam. Is there a way to do that? Steam gave me the keys to my games. I just need a spot to DL the games. If you need verification I can provide it.

I don‘t really understand what you are trying to do. If you got the game via Steam, you are stuck with Steam. In case you want to play without client, you can try to create a shortcut to the .exe file in the game directory. Don‘t know if it will work though (only have the gog version).

If u got it throught steam, then you're forced to use steam.

If I understand correctly you want to run the game as a standalone without using Steam as a client. The only way I know of is using your Steam key to claim a digital backup copy from GOG by following the link. https://www.gog.com/witcher/backup .
