was geralt still charmed in the last wish when he bound fates with yennifer?

was he still charmed when he made the wish?

I mean... she was jjust a straight up brat. she sattacked him multiple times, even after he saved her, she manipulated and used him, and she had exactly 0 charm. she was like the troll from game of thrones.

If a hunchback is gonna act like a *****, I'm not going to save you and bind myself to you. so would i be right in assuming he was still charmed, and then the wish then tied them together forever?

I expected timeless star-crossed story about true love, not this illogical union.

I think he wasn't, since he just couldn't remember anything from when he was charmed.

To be frank, I think nobody knows what Geralt sees in Yennefer...

I think he understood her on some level, and it had a lot to do with the hunchback logic. I think Geralt can relate to being a "freak", Yennefer is infertile, just as he is.
Her kind is shunned on by society, and so is his. They have a lot more in common than you may think!

True love seldom makes much sense, my friend.

I woould agree. it might be more believable if yen acted kindly and apathetic to him though.. showed her understanding of being different and the bond. But instead, she just acted like a *****

I mean.. I'm handicapped, but if another disabled person comes over and starts acting like that, 'Im going to read geralt's exorcism to them.

There's much more to Yennefer than the manipulating persona in The last wish. I think Geralt can relate to her because he somehow can see through her. She had a troubled childhood, much like him. I think this is one reason for her being very protective for Ciri, who is like a beloved daughter to her. A good character trait I assume.

And besides, who doesn't like raven haired and mighty sorceresses? :D

If you want a traditional "happily ever after" romance, watch some Disney movies. If you want a different take on love, try reading between the lines a bit instead of completely writing off one character for being a brat. If that's all you see in Yennefer, you didn't read enough and/or you missed the whole point. She isn't there to be merely a love interest and she has nothing to prove to anyone.

She acted like that because she was very unsere of herself, always hiden her weakness behind magic. Years of solitude, surviving as a grumpy and selfish people. But those who took the time for see beyond that mask, like Triss and Geralt, can be the real Yennefer, the woman who can sacrifice her life for Geralt, and for Ciri.

What strange... why Yennefer need to manipulate Geralt's will if he makes his own wish to the Didjy (genius) ? It has no sense.

While I can't say what Geralt saw in her in the Last Wish, Yen does become bearable (and more understandable) when Geralt pulls out the one thing she always wanted and gives it to her.
And Geralt wasn't charmed, he just likes to make nonsensical and often bad decisions in the books. At least in my opinion.

I literally just read The Last Wish in anticipation of TW3. Geralt was not still charmed by Yennefer when he made the 3rd wish with the Djinn. Geralt related to Yennefer on a deeper level, himself being an "outcast" as a Witcher to much of society, while Yen was a hunchback before becoming a sorceress. This has a lot to do with Geralt's understanding of Yen. In the book, it clearly states that he "forgets" (erases it from his mind) the fact that she was once a hunchback because Geralt didn't want Yen to read his thoughts and find out that he knew her secret; because Yen would never forgive him for it. Geralt felt a connection for her, even though Yen acted like a brat in their initial encounter and used Geralt for her purposes at getting back at the townsfolk of Rinde. The book also states that they "showed each other caring and tenderness, even though neither knew what caring and tenderness were." (paraphrase)

Since this is the only book I have read (or will read prior to launch on Tuesday), I don't know much else about Yennefer, but I wasn't too happy with her behavior towards Geralt in their first encounter. I was rooting for Geralt to kick her *ss while reading the end of the book. Of course, after the wish, it's like a switch is flipped and they are both "lovey-dovey" at the end of The Last Wish. Yennefer is truly astonished that Geralt tied his fate to her. She says that Geralt "condemned" himself.

and she got all mad and unforgivably wounded because triss charmed him? and she went and boned some wizard, feeling no guilt?

I hate this woman... so much. I want to kill her in tw3.

I've been meaning to ask actually (bit off topic) but is Yen still a hunchback (under a magical disguise?) or has she permaneately changed her looks with sorcery?

I think the books say they change themselves- i asumed it was like magical surgery, moving bones or whatever- not an illusion

No her physical self is real. The magic basicly performs beauty surgery while she becomes older. But the eyes don't change.
