mate lent me witcher 2 a few months ago; watched some gameplay trailers and didn't make me wanna play it.
the game i normally play is down for maintenance and i decide to invest sometime into this game.
started playing; the game kept getting me frustrated initially but i got into the swing of things.
got through the initial story line bullshit that comes with a new game; and was in the real world got to like level 7 started skilling up all that fun stuff beginning to actually enjoy this game; then i died.
dragon killed me.
but for some stupid reason my xbox didn't create a save file ?
kicked me out put me on the main screen and told me to start again.
lol, i'd just like to let the developers know how bad their console edition is.
for a console not to create a save file is a fucking joke; like are you serious ? how is there no mechanism to check where i was up to previously.
i spent almost 4 hours in this game without dying. first death i was punished horribly.
this isn't hardcore diablo; this isn't hardcore path of fucking exhile.
fuck your shit game; die in a hole.

to be honest buddy i don't generally play RPG's and any game in this day and age without an autosave is wrong.
the dev team truly fucked me in the arse on this one; i will never play another game from this franchise.

I don't really think that's a loss for them or us..

afaik there is an auto save right before the dragon attacks you, i messed up the QTE once too, but i could do the sequence right again, blame your xbox not the game.

Witcher 2 does autosave on the Xbox 360 after every quest I believe. The only thing that comes to mind is you may have not been logged in as a user on the console and thus no save game was being created.

Despite the frustration you experienced, it's definitely worth another playthrough. There are so many things in this game that you will pick up that you didn't in your first attempt, and its a game worth playing through to completion. It will actually make you respect RPG's I think.

it's the new xbox slim; i just can't understand why this happened.

i'm not the type to play a campaign twice either so there is actually zero chance of me playing through the beginning again; unless someone whats to email me a save file.

If you're not an usual player of RPG's you'd must have some more patience and try it once more time with calm. Even more insane mode ... Take that as a modest advice. Unfortunately there's no way of importing someone else's savegame onto an Xbox.
