Watain The Wild Hunt

Does anbody know if this has anything to do with the witcher or is it just a coincidence? I have not listened to this band and I am not familiar with their work.

This should answer your question: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wild_Hunt

In short: the Wild Hunt is an ancient folk myth of a cavalcade of ghostly riders. Both The Witcher and the metal album make reference to that myth.

I would say it's probably a coincidence.

Coincidental. The Wild Hunt appears in many cultures, from Germany to the American West; the notion that the Wild Hunt is led by otherworldly elves is most strongly developed in medieval Wales.

From The Black Book of Carmarthen (the speaker is Gwyn ap Nudd, King of the Fairies and leader of the Wild Hunt):
"I have been, I have been where the soldiers of Britain were slain
From the east to the north
I am the escort of the grave.
I have been where the soldiers of Britain were slain.
From the east to the south
I am alive, they in death!"

Watain's lyrics are not close to this tradition and not much to do with the exposition of the Wild Hunt in the games.

Couldn't it be that they took the name from the book saga? like Amon Amarth I mean.

There's no reason to believe they did. As Guy mentioned, none of the lyrics, either of the title song or the others, match anything Witcher, and the general concept and name of the Wild Hunt is widespread enough for it to be pure coincidence.
