Kind of surprised the mermaids aren't topless and have those modesty shells or whatever the hell they are. Unlike the dryads, they're actually supposed to be naked.

See this is what i'm talking about.
You think i can trust a beautiful Mermaid?She would probly grab me and take me under then transform into an ugly something or another.Shudders;;;;;;;;;;;;
Yeah i think they coul'd have gone for a more natural look, make it seem they are really free.
I don't know but they look ok.

Perhaps just for the sake of the Trailer so it can be shown without rating issues (Because Violence is totally fine in the US but nipples are EVIL - then again I think Australia is worse). Just like how in the SoD Trailer that Triss/Geralt scene looked pretty clearly like a Sex Scene but they were clothed, 99% chance they won't be in the game version.

I feel really sorry for anybody who has these kind of Phobias. Spiders, Underwater etc. So many video games feature this kind of stuff and it must be tough for you.
Hopefully you can overcome it for the sake of exploring the entirety of the world.

I honestly didn't expect Underwater, far-less underwater combat, so I have absolutely no idea what kind of Monsters are going to be in there and my brain hurts just trying to imagine Geralt fighting something under there. However I have to say I am intrigued to see what kind of strange, horrors CDPR can place under there for us to find and slay (Or maybe even just swim the hell away from). Although that will probably just make it even harder for the Phobia guys if there's stuff like that...

It would be really awesome to enter an underwater world of the mermaids and have a nice side quest in that setting.
Just going underwater to kill monster is not something a big deal for me.
Geralt battling some beast in an underwater world setting and winning a prized armour and sword along with some Royal love ;)

Something like the video below from Witcher 1, but in an underwater world.

Travel by boat in those video shots dammm.
It just makes it even better to play:)

Maybe we'll run into some vodyanoi, and their underwater cities? I'd love to explore some kind of underwater ruins. The devs had a love for Lovecraft in Witcher 1, and I'd like to see that again. The water lords are nigh. Dagon emerges again.

On the subject of fear, yes, I have great respect for things I cannot see or perceive but if they're not there, and I've had no indication of it being dangerous waters, why would I be afraid? Being careful yes, but so much as to call it phobia? No. A little fear is good and healthy, as it promotes being careful, but if your so afraid that you'll freeze up and panic while in water...you're in trouble.
In games I can get spooked, but I've yet to be bitten by a shark in Far Cry 3. I am too careful for that. ^_^
I think you'll manage @MOLEMAN1980, but good luck all the same! ^_^

If you don't want to talk about it, you don't have to talk about it, but please don't tread on those who do.

That was my way to say that I'm against water and underwater combat in general. I decline the whole subject.

There's underwater exploration, which is a good thing in my book. Underwater combat then becomes a necessity least said exploration turns into an underwater leisure cruise with the elderly, you know, admiring the dolphins, feeding the turtles, gazing at plankton passing by, that sort of thing. All fine and dandy as a screensaver but hardly what action RPGs offer.

This is one of those instances where a too fundamentalist attachment to lore might've gotten in the way of a better game. So very glad Reds didn't fall for it.

You might already know that I disagree with this statement. I don't think water and underwater exploration/combat makes the game any better, at least not for me.

And there are no such things as "necessary elements" in video games imo. Especially not those based on some kind of "genre conventions"....

Hey man I feel you, I have a fear for non-pool bodies of water which sort of bleeds into gaming. You can get past it, man. I had to for AC IV.

I think that was for the trailers, modified so they could show off water creatures without offending people and violating who knows what. I doubt it's allowed to show a bare chest in advertisement.

Well everyone's different but how can you say you won't like it if you haven't tried it yet? Then again I'm an odd one, I tend to like water levels in certain games. Namely Tomb Raider (no not the 2013 monstrosity, the classic) and other action adventure games come to mind.

Yeah i think the mermaid clip looked stiff and didn't flow.
The mermaids necklace had no sway or looked glued on.
